What's so great about UNCs resume?

Tennessee has actually beaten Kentucky by 30 more recently (2013), than the other way around. And so many times? It's happened 4 times. 1993, 1996, 1997, 2004.
I was trying to talk Scotty off the ledge. We really didn't need that info at the moment.

"More recently" is a great disclaimer.

When lessing yourself to choose a specific time period, you'll always get the angle you're hoping for.

UNC has us all time, I can twist the stats to where UK has it since 2000. Pretty weak right?

Reactions: Random UK Fan
Their on a run. Not long ago Vanderbilt had a winning streak against us @Friedas_Boss was on here daily talking about how Vandy is the new UK. UF, Arkansas, LSU, it's all the same to UK fans. New season, new posters.

now let's see what they do in the tournament.
Just glad to know you're pulling for us.

If we beat UVA and y'all lose before the final four, you going to still pull for us?
Depends on who you're playing. I tend to root for fans doing well rather than teams. UT fans are new money and focus on UK too much. If they play a team that has traditional pride, then I might root for them.

It's all about how fans carry themselves on here. "Look at me" isn't my flavor.

You can buy as much with new money as you can old and it doesn't get your fingers dirty.:)

You get the point and you can stop with your flirting, Della already has a boyfriend on this board! My point was that UK has beat UT so many times that it didn’t even feel like a rivalry anymore. I’m glad to see UT do their part in the SEC! I just hope they can continue what they’ve done the last two years because their fans have come running outta the woods to talk shit!

Again- why is losing to UK in Dec by 8 a much more damning loss than losing to Duke in Nov by 30+ or 34?
Imagine playing this Duke team right out of the gate like UK did. By the time everyone else got to play them, they all knew what they were facing. Not to mention Duke hit every shot they puked up. They haven't shot like that since then.

Do you honestly think UK loses by 34 to Duke if they had watched Duke dismantle another really good team like that?

By the time UK and UNC played, each team was far better than they were in early November. I mean, it was late December when UK and UNC played.

I know UNC is a much better team now, but so is UK. In fact, it looks to me like UK has improved more than UNC has and that's to be expected. UK is younger and had to mesh in more new players than UNC did.

UK had their feet underneath them in that UNC game, not do much in that November game against Duke. If Duke and UK we're to meet now, nobody is getting blown it, it would be a very close game.

No one forces UK to form a team of 1 and done NBA farm league kids. The NCAA season starts in Nov and ends in March and they ain't making a special UK rule so y'all can season up your Players. Ready or not, here it comes.

You do know that college use to be a 4 year proposition? I got news for you, it still is.Laughing
Yup, but when your players are good enough after 1 year to go in the first round of the draft, what are you going to do?

I mean look at this team. Herro, Washington, Hagans and Keldon are all gone after this year. They're all projected to go in the first round. If Barnes was coaching them, they'd be 4 year guys.

So what would you do Della? Would you force those kids to come back to school in that situation?

I think Herro is a true talent and would benefit greatly with another college year.
I actually think UK losing some SEC games helps them in a tourney run. I really wish y'all well in the NCAA.
Herro is gone. He's comfortably in the first round by all projections. You don't pass that up.

What a lot if people don't realize is, going to the NBA allows you, as a player, to practice whenever you want with NBA caliber coaches. You don't have restrictions and you don't have to go to class.

So going back to school when you are a first round draft pick makes zero sense. Why not make large amounts of money and train with NBA coaches while you're still extremely young instead of going back to school where you have to go to class (well, except at UNC, no wonder those 5* kids always return ;) )

Jeff, it is the sum of the parts. You have to count the good with the bad.

As at stands now, we are both #2 seeds and have our work cut out for us. Can't we turn our swords into plowshares and try to represent the SEC?:)
I'm all about the SEC at this point. The SEC takes a beating on these forums and it's always turned around as a negative towards UK.

Any of the other blue bloods would have a tough time in the SEC, but that can never be proven. The environment that UK gets when they go on the road in SEC league play is crazy, but the league is ten times better now than it was just a few years ago. But these other SEC teams need to prove it in this tournament.

I'm pulling for every SEC team in this tournament, including UT.

What kind of environment do you think teams like Kansas, unc and Duke get when they play on the road? You think Kentucky is the only team to face hostile environments on the road in their conference?

We're not the only one to get the road hostile environment, but since we're #1 all time we get #1 all time hate crowds.

One day all this can be yours.

none of this is serious signed disclaimers for douchebags

Was he really on a road trip with his fake wife to go watch their son in the top future MLB prospects game or was he taking her to a fashion shoot???RollLaugh
I don't believe it for a second. There is no way that dude skipped watching UK vs UNC. But whatever.

There are more top end teams in the ACC.

What bothers me about the SEC is it is a football conference and fans of those football power schools don't give a shit about basketball....until Kentucky comes to town. Then all the sudden it's a white/black/gold/orange out and the whole arena is in a frenzy.

It's gotten better though now that there are other good top end teams in the SEC. For a long time it was just UK, nobody else was worth getting excited about.
