***THE OFFICIAL BRACKETOLOGY/NCAA MARCH MADNESS THREAD***

We either are going out in the round of 32….or going final four. I don’t like a r32 matchup against Arkansas, but if we beat them I don’t fear UConn and ucla being injured doesn’t scare me even if we are playing only 90 miles from their campus.

And they weren't even in the first 4 out. Maybe that's based on the knowledge that Robbins is done for the year.
Only thing I could think of....To not even bee in the first four out tells me they may have needed to win the SECT? Or does win over A&M get them in?

If only he had more heart. I kid, I kid. Too soon?

My favorite part of this post is that Borden of all people liked it.
All in fun----context is important. Kev's a good dude, and I know he meant no harm.

Heart issues are no fun. Scary shit. Keeps you at night. When I was in the hospital, man it was lonely. The morning of my surgery----Scariest day ever. Going to the OR, let my wife walk with me. Kissing her, telling her I love you-----it was emotional---because once that door closed, it could have been last time I saw here.

Shit is emotional, tbh....

He gave it the "wow" emoji. lol
In a sense of, "damn, Kev, really bro...." ;) 🤣

But in all seriousness, i knew it was in jest----with no harm meant. Been on here a long time, and you know people.....I knew you meant that to be funny----and it was.

What da fuq????

Sheesh....

Is there some really bad losses I am not aware of?

They were 7-6 OOC, they won a few games against good but not great SEC teams. I don’t understand what y’all are even having an issue with either committee about for not loving them.

I'm not going to pretend that there is a difference between a 4 seed and a 5 seed in this situation, but lol at Virginia getting a 4 seed and Duke getting a 5.

Butttt... Duke got a favorable bracket. Better to be the 5 seed with these losers than a 4 seed out west.

I was a little surprised we got a 4 and you got a 5. Shows you that the whole season matters and not just the last month. However, an injured and slumping UT team is about as good as it gets for your 4. Plus, purdue is the most vulnerable 1 seed. We’re both in Orlando instead of Greensboro which sucks but I don’t think you can be too upset about your draw.

We smoked Duke ealier in the year and will do so again. Done with the B1G rasslin thank gawd. Give me neutral site non-conference play all day long.

Which bracket opens up? Which bracket sees multiple 7 seeds or lower make the S16? I think the South region opens up for Alabama. I see a lot of upsets in that region.

Purdue had a couple of big runs in that game and made it difficult for Duke to have any consistency. Final score was ugly, no doubt. But we're talking about two totally different Duke teams. Obviously I would expect Purdue to be the favorite in the potential match up, but it woukd be pretty silly to count Duke out based on the game earlier in the year.

Lol at the "B1G rasslin" btw. Overrated every year.

Obviously, anyone can beat anyone (outside 16 seeds), but I like Purdue’s draw and matchups no matter what the pundits say. Who will match up with the guards from Memphis blah blah blah. Brandon Newman and Ethan Morton are excellent defenders. Jalen Pickett got swamped yesterday and he is a top 5 guard in the country. Who the fck is going to match up against Edey on either Memphis or Duke or Marquette? All Ive seen on this board and from “experts” are picks of Duke or Marquette and Purdue beat both already.

No doubt quad 1 wins are a big help, but on the show yesterday the head of the NCAA Selection committee said the committee looks at quad 1 and 2 combined.

Alabama is the only 1 seed I feel confident making it to the final four. The other 3 (us included) have significant road blocks in their path.

Who besides Bama was/is a "great" SEC team?

They finished 11-7 in a P5 conference. That record is probably better if not for the loss of Liam Robbins; VU was 7-1 with him....4-6 w/o.

Ok, so maybe not an NCAAT team...

But a 3-seed in the NIT?---Thats bad, man. Maybe neither committee likes Stackhouse's suits?

Arkansas would've had a shot at being great if Brazille didn't get hurt followed by Smith missing a couple months.

Morton/Newman are solid defenders.....But its not that much about defense when talking about a potential match-up with Memphis----Its about the "heat" they can put on your guards, and ya'll have shown to not be so good with that.....

No one matches-up with Edey---No reason to entertain that. The blueprint for beating PU is to pressure your guards, make it tough on them for entry passes, and run them off the "3" point line. Now Painter has made a nice adjustment here, going with Jenkins/Newman more. But still, no one is gonna try and match-up with Edey. He is gonna get his. Its the others you worry about.

Purdue is gonna have to handle pressure better, AND shoot s good clip from the perimeter.

If its Memphis in the 2nd round, that is gonna be a toughie. Athletic, long, big guards have been an issue for Loyer/Smith all year. Outside of Davis, Memphis guards are all 6'5" that see minutes.

Teams evolve throughout the year and that's especially true for programs that rely on star recruits and/or use the transfer portal extensively to build their roster.

Purdue crushed Duke earlier in the year but Proctor and Lively are nowhere near the players then as they are now.

Lively is one of the few guys in the country that can match up with Edey and Flip can too in stretches. Lively's athleticism would make Edey's life very difficult as the timing of his shot release will be off or he"ll get blocked if he goes straight up. There's a reason guys like Edey and Tshiebwe won't be NBA starters while Lively likely will down the road.

Memphis' guards are massive and will cause issues for Newman, Morton and Loyer. Edey will have a tough time defending their forays to the hoop.

Marquette's offense is unstoppable at times and will be able to spread Purdue out.

You guys have a shot at the Final 4 but I think Purdue is the likeliest 1 seed to lose before then.
