No one but UK fans care about what happened in 1940. Tennessee is on the rise, we are pretty much even with y'all in the last 5 years and we are not even Blue bloods. Other Blue bloods like Duke have left y'all in the dirt. Y'all should avoid Duke in the future.

1975 their first year, Kentucky shared the SEC title with Alabama. Kentucky went on to play in the NCAA final game and lost to John Wooden on his last game. Tennessee was not invited.
1976 Alabama won the SEC. Kentucky went to the NIT and won it. Tennessee made the NCAA and lost the first damned game.
1977 Tennessee tied with Kentucky for the SEC title; however, UK lost to UNC in the East Regional final. Tennessee bombed out in the first NCAA game.
So let us see those great King games. They just prove my prior statements.

You talk a lot about blue bloods and use Duke’s ass kicking in November because it fits your agenda. But you haven’t mentioned another blue blood, Carolina, who has kicked Duke’s ass twice this year. Wanna know what happened when we played Carolina? Hint: teams get better as the year goes on, especially young teams.

Come on Della, I don't mind discussing King. He was really good, but his Tennessee teams were sure as hell not as good as Kentucky was during his three years. They beat Kentucky several times, but they fell flat on their face in the tourney. King never won an NCAA game. Sorry.

Why are you being such a dimwit? I have said that UT has maintained a par equal to UK's last 5 years. There is every reason to believe that UT will be pretty good during the Barnes era. He has built a team out of lower level recruits, but he is now signing higher level recruits.

Kentucky played a tougher schedule in the SEC than Tennessee. Kentucky played a tougher OOC schedule than Tennessee. So I don't see where UT is on the rise and UK on the decline. The facts don't back you up. Where is the decay of Kentucky?

UK lost more games than UT. UK took worse ass kickings and lost to lower ranked teams. I don't see how you can claim any kind of victory with that. UT carried the SEC battle standard into non conference play and brought pride to our league. UK embarrassed the SEC in a showdown with an ACC powerhouse.
Tennessee effectively filled the void of the decaying UK empire.

This is a basketball board KL. I think it in poor taste to bring football into conversation. I will respond if someone brings it up, but I don't initiate it.
If you are asking why I'm not on the football board as much, I can answer that too. There was a huge purge of posters over there that were banned at one time, maybe 30 or so. Lots of them were my efriends that I had argued and laughed with for the last 10 years or so. There are now very few good posters there and to make matters worse, the MODS unpermabanned a bunch of trolls, so the appeal of the place is greatly diminished.
I love UT football. Y'all missed your best chance to beat us on the Hill last year. You have lost a lot of Srs and UT is recruiting at a very high level. That said, I think Stoops is a very good coach, but until UK supports him with resources he will have a lower ceiling than the elite SEC football schools.

If only the recent UK/Duke scoreboard is that important to you (and I suspect it's not) then the last 2 games stand at 1 & 1. It's a constant see saw of payback. Any number of games - the entire series or the last 2 years - is irrelevant anyway.
