Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

I decide based on common sense. Or my opinion of common sense. You decide based on your opinion of common sense.

That’s how that works.
Your common sense tells you that it’s rational to think and teach there are more than two genders? Your common sense thinks it’s okay to teach our youth history thru a lens of racism? The guy that’s scared to give an inch of ground thinks leftist absurd ideas are inconsequential, but by god, the right thinks all immigrants are terrorists Bc we think we should have secure borders and document all newcomers to the USA.

Gender is different from sex. So, yes, common sense a) dictates there are probably more than 2, b) there is no real world significant impact to my life if somebody decides there are two or 100 genders. It epitomizes “inconsequential.”

American history is undoubtedly and inextricably linked to slavery and racism, at the very least through the 1990’s, in terms of policy decisions, human rights, economics, and war. So, yes, discussing the impact of race on those things throughout history is common sense. Notably, this doesn’t come close to placing blame or guilt or value judgements on any particular race. Notably, it doesn’t change what history is taught, so it’s inconsequential in terms of kids being as educated as I was in school.

On the other side, we see human rights violations in the name of national security. This goes beyond border security in Mexico. On the other side, we see morally bankrupt abortion laws. Stepping away from the social stuff, economically, we see the ideology that if you make things easier for rich people and businesses that money will flow down the ladder and solve our problems. This, despite that economic policy never approaching success in practice.

I agree that banning abortion for rape victims is morally bankrupt. (Far right)

So is allowing 2nd trimester elective abortions. (Left)

This idea that Democrats’ stance on abortion is centered on morality… when it’s the stance of allowing termination of this (below) even if it isn’t medically necessary… makes me scratch my head.

Here's a question. Why do liberals constantly champion women's abortion rights (my body, my choice) and chastise christians/catholics/evangelicals for believing abortion is wrong based on their religious beliefs. Yet have no problem championing other religions that actually treat women like we live in the stone age?

Which other religions do they champion to the point of saying women should be mistreated? Even the minority who are Muslim tend to oppose extremism. Most are Christian.

I’m not even religious and this is a yikes. You do realize they just allowed women to drive in the Middle East only a few years ago, correct?

I’m missing the yikes. Wait, you think American Liberals who are Muslim want America to be run like a middle eastern country?

I love you Jimbo, but c’mon; get real. There are African and Asian countries with governments heavily influenced by Christianity that brutally beat and execute homosexuals by law. Do American Christians want that?

His point was about Islam in general, not just in America. Christians are chastised for their beliefs in this country by the left much more than Muslims are. There are many more extreme Muslims in the world than Christians. This is not debatable. It is flawed logic.

Muslims are chastised in this country more than any other religion. It’s not particularly close.

Opposing 18 week elective abortions is not mistreating women or morally bankrupt.
