It’s obviously such a crapshoot, but I would think Purdue would have a better chance this year. With the expectations most have surrounding Ivey, there’s a decent chance they don’t have Trevion or Ivey next year. They’ll still have a strong roster, but I’d imagine that will be a bigger hole to fill compared to going from last year to the upcoming season.

This isn’t meant to disparage their roster for 22-23, just that the odds to get to the elite 8 with Williams and Ivey are probably higher.

Agree, this coming season will be Painter's best and deepest roster.

That is completely assuming Ivey is there. Painter seems to be the anti-Turge and can get guys to stick around for an extra year.

If Ivey is here as a junior, we'll obviously be very well positioned.

The big difference here is that Ivey is younger and more talented than the guys that have come back under Painter.
