We beat a pretty decent D2 program Ferris State 92-58. About what the fanbase expected out this game. Christie looks pretty good, but hard to take much from a D2 exhibition game.

Won a national title a few years back, same day as my bachelor and Michigan’s Elite 8 win over FSU. Pretty fun weekend.

Also, Ferris is the #1 ranked D2 football team right now. They were pretty ass when I was there.

How did Akins look? I’ve always been super high on him and really wanted Michigan to land him. I think he’ll be on the Jaden Ivey track end of this year and going into next.

Great. He will get minutes for us because he really competes defensively. He’s ahead of where most freshmen that come into our program are in that regard. He just moves well. And he’s great at attacking the rim as well. He’s really athletic. I don’t hate the Ivey comp, I think they have similar strengths and weaknesses, although I don’t think he’ll be like a projected all American next year.

The one area that he needs improvement somewhat is shooting. He’s gotten better, but if he wants to be a great player here he needs to be better than just an ok shooter. He’s not AJ Hoggard level bad, but he’s definitely worse than the other guys we have from deep.

So it appears zeb jackson will be a bust, man beileins late guard recruiting was horrific

Jackson
Dejulius
Bajema
Nunez

That level of recruiting could have torpedoed the program had beilein stayed, thankful juwan was able to recover through the transfer portal.

And recruiting. Don’t really need him when you got 2 top 50 guys coming off your bench at the 1 and 2.

Or maybe Bielien develops them. Or maybe Bielien replaces them in the portal. Or maybe Bielien recruits a stud himself.

Has there always been max bets for ncaaf games (straight bet on the line) so that payouts are max $1000 or is FD limiting me? Anyone?

UM guys, thoughts on this Saturday? I’m antsy for the game. I’d pick you guys to win but it honestly could go either way. I think we’ll know who’s going to win pretty early on though.

The top key for us IMO is somewhat shutting down your run game. No one has managed to do it yet. You have run the ball down everyone’s throats this season and have a great game manager QB. We have to force Cade to be more than a game manager if we want a shot. If you guys are constantly putting these drives together and running the ball as effective as other games, you can just call the game there for you.

I’d probably go UM like 27-17 or something like that. Our offense has gotten bitch slapped by defenses worse than yours.

I never bet on FD but I know NCAAF is a little more limited towards the beginning of the week on most sportsbooks and the limits get higher the closer we get to Saturday. Shouldn’t have that problem with nfl though.
I would think that the limit would be higher than that though.

I bet a certain team at +7.5 at -110 and FD would not let me bet more than $1,100.

I’d try contacting them to see if it’s a sportsbook issue or a you issue. My money is on them just limiting certain NCAAF bets though. NCAAF has some of the most vulnerable lines which is why those limits are in place.

When I went to the Ryder Cup on Sunday I spent the day with some dude who gambles professionally. He actually takes a lot of action as a bookie. He had $30,000 bets on 4 matches from the first tee box and he was adding live bets as it went on. I was sweating my $25 three man parlays. Just a different world.

He was on the final table of a big World Poker Tour tournament once. I used to think that money they won could be life changing but this dude easily had twice as much as he won from that tournament in play in sports bets that day.

I’m not on that level, but I do have a pretty obscene amount of wagers outstanding right now.

@VulvHa I never bet on FanDuel sportsbook but still had my best day I’ve ever had on dfs on the dfs site FanDuel even though I haven’t played there in 4 years at this point. (This was my senior year of college off a $4 entry haha)

I like playing golf DFS but it’s a really bad investment. I came out well ahead last year but when you think about it the ROI is lopsided. 10-15% take off the top and then if you do win you’re paying an extra 25% in taxes.

You won a 100k? Fcking nice.

Yeah that was my biggest hit I’ve ever had. I’ve had a couple of other bigger ones but not even close to that ROI. But mainly play like $100 single entry stuff now so a lot easier to maintain a bank roll/cash regularly. Only play draftkings now too.

I’ve played a lot of golf DFS, but I do the heads up. On FD it’s basically just Empiremaker or Hoops that put up H2H contests with any size.

Golf dfs is one of the best dfs sports IMO. So much fun and so many approaches you can take on any given week.

I’ve never hit big on those contests with thousands of entries.

However, I did just hit on $800 payout for Rodgers +9.5 rush yards as long he doesn’t lose 2.5 yards later in the game.

Edit: sht they fcked it up. It was Amari Rodgers. I’m no longer in the money.

Yes it’s very fun. Not a very wise investment though just from a numbers standpoint. And I say that being up several thousand over the past two years.

Nothing in the sports world is a wise investment when it comes to gambling/dfs. But there are certainly things you can do to make it a profitable venture in the long term picture.

I look for mispriced odds. For instance I bet Rodgers anytime TD (non-throwing). When I looked at parlay with Hopkins TD, it was triple the odds even though Hopkins was at -110 for TD. Adding The second leg should have only boosted my odds 2x, but they gave me 3x. Had to bet it solely on mathematic principles.

There are things that help. Contest selection, hammering overlay, etc. But in general it’s not ideal. If we played a $1 head to head on draft kings. What’s the take home pay for the winner after rake and taxes?

And I’m aware you probably play tournaments like I do but the concept is the same. DraftKings and Uncle Sam both go into our winnings dry. You get like 60 cents to the dollar on winnings.

Uncle Sam goes in on everything. Hell, they’re talking about going in on unrealized capital gains now. Whatever the fvck that means.

I tend not to worry about the rake draftkings takes. Basically just have to know you have to be a top 20% player if you’re going to play in GPP’s & have one really great week a year to make it all worth it. Have to be smartly contrarian if that makes sense.

Yeah. I play single bullets and fade chalk all the time. Works well and is “profitable” but it’s still not wise.

I was a guest picker on a golf popular golf show once.
