Despite putting a second guy in the lineup with a low release, Bryce McGowens could play either the 1 or 2 depending on how you want to shift the lineup. Just no excuse to put a role player on this type of team.

You think Bryce McGowans as a freshman is better than a 5th year Brooks or Frazier? I doubt either of us would take that swap this year.

That's a different issue than the one we're discussing. Our teams need that leadership and defense on the perimeter. The team we're discussing would not need that as much.

Frazier and Brooks ate probably both better than a first year McGowens and Eli’s skillset pairs excellent with an two guard like Ivey.

How many freshman guards have come in and had a better freshman season than Brooks did last year? The only Michigan one I can think is Trey Burke. Stauskas? Probably not. Close (Stauskas better offensively, Eli way better defense). Walton? No. Irvin? No. Simpson? No. Poole? No. Jackson? No. Bufkin and Collins probably not.

Just don’t see many freshman guards coming in and putting up an efficient 10/3/3 while playing top tier defense.

All of your shit all star teams would still lose to mine. I’ve yet to see any that gets close.

Edit: Etwaun Moore and Maurice Creek as well.

Ayo Dosunmu: 13.8 ppg, 3.3 apg, 4 rpg, 35.2% 3P%, 24.2 USG
Andre Curbelo: 9.1 ppg, 4.2 apg, 4 rpg, 16.1% 3P%, 24.9 USG
Trent Frazier: 12.5 ppg, 3.1 apg, 1.8 rpg, 34.7% 3P%, 26.3 USG

vs

Eli Brooks: 9.5 ppg, 3.1 apg, 3.1 rpg, 39.6% 3P%, 16.2 USG

All had better or similar freshman seasons to Eli Brooks had last year.

Unanimous selection you say? How could that be? Have you seen Ivey's % from three? Inefficient chucker imo.

What is the fomat of the voting to come up with an 11 man team and 5 unanimous?

My predicated All Big Ten teams

1st team
Kofi Cockburn
Hunter Dickinson
EJ Liddell
Jaden Ivey
Trayce Jackson Davis

2nd team
Ron Harper Jr.
Andre Curbelo
Caleb Houston
Trevion Williams
Qudas Wahab

3rd team
Eric Ayala
Max Christie
Justice Sueing
Keegan Murray
Bryce McGowens

They probably asked everyone for their top 10 players. Those 5 were on everyone’s top 10 I would guess. There are probably 11 due to a tie.

I really wanna go with this lineup despite it's lack of bulk:

Ayala/Brooks (just looking for the steady glue guy type here)
Ivey
Christie
Houstan
Kofi

I see a glaring omission here. I’d wear a cup if I were you.

Yes no even

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills watching someone pump Eli Brooks this hard. He didn’t even meet the qualifications to be considered more than a Limited Role Player last year. He’s fine, but Jesus.

He couldn’t even guard Frazier last year. They had to put Chaundee on him - not that that went any better.

And you don’t think it’s crazy that you guys are pumping Frazier as much as you are?

We are being objective with him. You acting like Frazier’s freshman year was better completely neglecting how much more efficient Brooks was is that confusing thing.

Eli Brooks 118.3 offensive rating, 99.0 defensive rating

Trent Frazier 102.4 offensive rating, 104.1 defensive rating
Eli Brooks, 5th option on a team with a good offense. Trent Frazier 1st option on a team with a bad offense. You’re not going to railroad me with a zero context stat. Sitting on the wing and shooting open jumpers because the defense prioritizes you behind every other player doesn’t make you better.

Oh okay. DaMonte Williams is objectively better than Eli Brooks then. The end. We can move on.

Why has Trent been so inefficient the last two years doing exactly that then?

Efficiency is not the be all end all but dismissing its relevance when that’s part of what makes Eli Brooks valuable makes zero sense.

Why would that be the case?

Da'Monte Williams ORtg 137.8 > 118.3 and Drtg 95.2 < 99. He's much more efficient, and you're clearly neglecting that.

Da'Monte was much more efficient, had a higher ORtg, Drtg, WS/40, 3P%, TRB. Try to be objective.

Da'Monte Williams
Jaden Ivey
Caleb Houstan
EJ Liddell
Kofi Cockburn

Williams is the perfect complement. He plays great defense, can bring the ball up, and he was the best 3pt shooter in the country.
