If I had to make one I’d go with

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Bohannon
Nut puncher Brad Davidson
Tiktok star Adrien Nunez
Entry pass legend Sasha Stefanovic
Defensive monster Omar Payne

My essential game plan would be let Jesus launch Hail Mary’s off the entry pass from Sasha. If anyone tries to block it, they get a full force punch in the balls from Brad. Defensively we’d play 1 on 5, no one is scoring on Payne. Nunez is out there to make tiktoks during the game because he’s basically useless, but it’ll grow our social media following so we aren’t only the best team but also the most watched. Boom. World domination.

It's Bruce.

Top 5

I was struggling to do that
I don't think I'd even consider him for the position. He's a combo - similar to Trent Frazier who I also wouldn't consider. The dearth of talent at the PG position in the Big Ten is pretty eye popping. If you want a PG that can shoot, it's Jesus, Tyson Walker, Xavier Johnson, or Bruce. None of those guys are anything more than very solid players though.

Indiana - Xavier Johnson
Iowa - Jesus
OSU - Jamari Wheeler
Maryland - Fatts Russell
Michigan State - Tyson Walker
Northwestern - Boo Buie
Wisconsin - Bruce
Rutgers - Geo Baker
Nebraska - 😵
Minnesota - 😵

When I see that list, I feel better about Eric Hunter running the point for Purdue.

I made my comment about Brooks before I looked at that. I can't believe how bad the crop is. There are a bunch of decent - good guys, but there are few studs.

@NC_Trojan10, what was the bet again and who is it with?
Even though you know the bet and who it is with…

Karlaftis not first round in 2022 draft with @CardinalBoiler

Well I wouldn’t consider them if my SG wasn’t ball dominant. I don’t need Eli to have the ball in his hands as much as a typical PG because plenty of sets will run through Ivey. And I think Eli Brooks is better than everyone you just listed.

Eli Brooks better than Trent?

Doubtful.

Ah I gotchu, thought you were considering Trent as he was mentioned earlier in the post.

Only other player I’d consider (due to fit along side Ivey) would be Bohannon but his defense is so bad.

1-Ivey
2-Frazier
3-Houstan
4-Harper Jr
5-Cockburn

Brooks is a fine compliment to Ivey. He can run the point (kinda), play off ball, is really efficient, can shoot the three, is a top tier perimeter defender,

I guess I’ve been wrong about who’s starting. Apparently now it’s likely Tyson Walker and Joey Hauser not AJ Hoggard and Malik Hall.

Personally, I’d take Frazier over him. Frazier can play the point better, has already played along side a guard that’s similar to Ivey, and is the best defensive guard in the conference.

The only thing Brooks has over Frazier is he shoots higher from 3.

Hoggard looked bad last year, so Walker starting isn’t that surprising.

Hauser is though

Don’t forget that Brooks averages more rebounds, more assists and less turnovers.

Izzo has raved about how Hoggard has been the most improved player this offseason. I think it maximizes our ceiling if Walker starts though. Just the more natural PG.

Hauser for us has been that dude that lights it up in practice and then plays kind of bad come game time. His shooting stroke is so pure and he had some crazy good games last year, but he just couldn’t hit for what felt like all of the second half of the season. There’s no doubt he’s a more skilled offensive player than Malik. Just will be interesting if he can hold his own defensively. He struggled to guard a chair last year.

0.4 more on both of those categories.

Noticed how I didn’t say Frazier averaged .5 points per game more or whatever minimal difference it is?

You definitely will need a guy that can get you into the offense, as both Brown and Christie are more off-ball/shooter types. Though Christie could develop into more if he adds strength.

If Hauser’s hitting from outside he’s probably the better option. It’s not like he can regress defensively lol

The 3pt shooting is what I’m looking for most. Defensively they are similar. Offensively Brooks is a little more efficient. You’re splitting hairs.

Trent shoots 36% from 3 over his career while Brooks shoots 35%.

Lol
And? Brooks has gotten better as his career has gone one, and Trent hasn’t. Brooks shot 39% last year. You even said like two posts ago Brooks was better from 3.

Sorry the hair just doesn’t split in Brooks favor.

It’s okay, he’s still second best at the role in conference
Do you find it weird that fans from 3 different fan bases picked Brooks, and only you picked Frazier? No one else even mentioned Frazier as a possibility.

Have whatever opinion you want. It’s just weird to use career percentage on someone who has improved his shot like Brooks has.

When he shot the same volume as Trent from 3 (his junior year), they shot roughly the same percentage.

End of the day, both of them are plus shooters.

Trent is just better as a ball-handler, and as a defender.

And worse as a rebounder, facilitator, and also is sloppier with the ball.

We are just going to throw out Eli’s most recent season where he showed continued improvement? So odd.

Anyways, Torvik graded Brooks at 3.2 last year, Frazier at 2.8. You’ve cited that every stat for players all offseason.

Yet, only one is the better player.

And unfortunately for closeted Michigan fans, like you, it’s Frazier.

Shows me who the casuals are.

How many have Curbelo on their team even though he’s a Top 2 guard in conference?
