Ahhh, nature is healing itself. This is the offseason thread we've all been waiting for.
Only missing one thing and then the entire thing would be balanced.

Pour one out for the man...

Y'all gonna be Iowa bad next year?
Iowa bad might be worse than Minnesota bad next year, if we are able to get Filip Rebraca and the two rumored Texas A&M transfers. Brandon Johnson is also a possibility to return as well.

Still the tallest midget.

Well, I might as well let the board enjoy our misery. UK is about to hire two of our best recruiting assistant coaches. I think we will end up with good replacements, but it certainly isn't ideal. The basketball gods just love to remind us where we belong.

Down in the basement with Iowa.

Is OA taking Curbelo and Miller with him?
Miller was a Coleman recruit. We moved on from him anyway. His mom wouldn’t drop the fantasy.

Curbelo loves Underwood. Most would be shocked to see him depart. He has the keys to the kingdom and UK is about to get TyTy Washington. It’s doubtful he leaves, but you never know.

Is Miller still in the portal, I presume?

If Harper and Baker come back I don't think we will be "bad". If one or both leave it could be a struggle. But I really like our HC and he seems to get a lot of his teams. Not sure I'd throw dirt on us just yet.

No Johnson, No Young, and possibly no Harper/Baker.

Looks like there's a good chance Iowa lands Rebraca. He's announcing later today. Probably saw more playing time for himself at Iowa. 😁

At this point, it looks like we are going with the Maryland model next season. Unless something changes, we ain't gunna have a true center on the roster.

We had a true center on the roster. He was just unplayable in the B1G. And good luck with that strategy.
I don't think it's his preferred strategy. Look at Theo John, he ended up at Duke. Any true Centers, in the transfer portal, that can rebound and protect the rim, are going to be hot commodities. Even Ohio State had to settle with Joey Brunk after they lost out on other options.

Once Young announced he was returning, Brunk became who they wanted. Not sure it was the correct decision.

UK will likely still get Antigua due to their prestige and his former ties there, but I’m proud Illinois didn’t back down. Our counter offer would reportedly make him the highest paid assistant in the nation, more than $1 million per year for four years. U of I has plenty of resources, and it’s nice to finally have an AD who is willing to be serious about sports.

I'd imagine they realize he's a big part of their success.

Sounds like a waste of money for a glorified bagman, for his reputation the recruiting results at Illinois have not been very impressive.
