*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

there seems to be some sentiment that Purdue is a real dark horse according to Corey Evans and our writer, but Kansas looms large.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-memphis-duke-malik-hall-north-carolina

But I feel that there's about a 5% chance that we'll beat out a final 5 that consists of Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and UCLA.

I've noticed Corey Evans isn't the most plugged in. Since Daniels left it looks like they kind through a guy out there.

We got people bitching about jerseys and the student section... it’s offically almost game time
If you're talking about on peegs then you're exaggerating a whole bunch on the bitching part. As far as bitching goes, that was about as mild as could possibly be.

Bitching is slang for complaining...people are on Peegs complaining about Indiana's jerseys and the student section booing a kid on another team.

My favorite on the "issue": "I could see this becoming a situation where "grey hair" referees aren't big fans of this tactic, and wind up giving the kid being booed for no reason some favorable calls."

I mean get ****ing real.

Dude stop looking for things to bitch about other people bitching about lol. Yeah, that was a pretty stupid comment from whoever wrote it, but the overwhelming majority of people in that thread were just saying it wasn't their cup of tea. It's not like more then 1 or 2 people were being stupid about it. Btw...I'm the one who started that thread because I didn't know why they were booing that kid in particular. So, does that mean that I'm also bitching because I asked "I missed when they talked about it, but why are they booing that one guy"? Because 99% of the posts were similar tone as my question. Btw, since you did bring it up....I don't personally care for the reason why they were doing it. But, it's not like its that big of a deal, so I had actually forgotten about that thread even being mine lol.

I'm not meaning to call you out here, but it just seemed like an overreaction on your part.

Oh yeah, also...thanks for the English lesson! Up until you explained it I never realized that "bitching " was slang for complaining.

Huh....you learn something new everyday I guess.... AMIRITE?!

Tldr...Way too many words are being written for one, smartass, tongue in cheek, comment on a different board.

I'm sure you know, but it was in "fun". Miller told the students to pick out a player, and "boo" him each time he touched the ball. Watson was aware of this, and found it quite funny. From what I understood, Miller let them know this was going to occur.

Yeah, it was explained in that thread. Honestly, it did surprise me that Miller was the one who started it. I just always assumed that any of that silly stuff was beneath him. My only issue with it is it just reminds me of something Purdue would do tbh. Kind of like the IU sucks chant even when their not playing IU. But at the end of the day, it's not a big deal and until it was mentioned here I had forgotten about it.

Lol yeah my bad there...really wasn't trying to pull you all into it.

With that said, I do think most reasonable fans would agree that its pretty stupid to do that when you're playing Alcorn St.

Archie had an open practice for the students this week. At the open practice he gave some suggestions to the “Crimson Guard” on some unitary things to do.

Some IU fans are now butthurt that the student section is selecting a player or two on the opposite team to boo.

your fans are booing an opposing player (unheard of in college basketball) and you jump to some random ass comparison to Purdue. You say some of the dumbest shit sometimes lmfao

Literally he started a thread on Peegs a day ago about it and says he “forgot about it”

Remembered because I said here some are bitching about the jerseys and student section.

When I was HS that happened every single game. WTF is the big deal?

Lol l, so are you saying that you've never made a post then walked away from the site?

Keep reaching dude...just like you did on the bitching part.

Its more then just fans booing 1 person on a random team. Miller wants the students to pick a random player each game for no reason at all and boo him everytime he's on the court. Like I said above, it's not a big deal I just think its childish.

That doesn't mean I'm right on this, its just my personal opinion. Which is the reason why I compared it to when the Purdue students do the IU sucks chant.

Think you’re getting a little defensive here. Not a good look.

Lol what are you talking about? Seriously, not being sarcastic here...I really don't know what you're talking about here? If pointing out that he over exaggerated on his statement is what you're talking about....then I guess okay?.?.

Besides that, I honestly don't know what you're referring to?

If MSU gets Carey or Stewart, I think we will be a top 5 team next year. 2 top 5 recruits

My best guess for our starting 5 would be
Senior Cash
Senior Langford
Sophomore Henry
Junior Tillman
Freshman Carey/Stewart

And off the bench you would have Sophmore Gabe Brown, Foster Loyer, Thomas Kithier, and Marcus Bingham. Plus 2 top 50 Freshman Rocket Watts and Malik Hall.

I’d like to say, with Carey I think we are in the mix for sure, but national guys consider us the leader for Stewart at this point in time. Hopefully it works out.

The top of the BIG would be very tough if you all got those 2 and IU got both TJD and Brooks. It definitely would make for a fun year!

Not even both, just one of them. I doubt they would want to play together either, judging they are both top 5 recruits who both play center.

Give me one of those 2 AND Brooks and this is a dream class.

That sounds worse than a regular jagerbomb for some reason.

It's ..... not for beginners.

Better than izzos best team ever?

Kinda funny that Archie is making suggestions to the student section. But otherwise seems like a complete non-story.

However, I don't want to interrupt IU fans eating their own.

28-3. Won the Big Ten. Probably purely the most talented team he’s ever had.

Let’s compare nexts years potential team of everything goes well (not saying it will work out this way)

Senior Cash> Sophmore Cash

Senior Langford> Sophmore Langford

Sophmore Henry< Sophmore Bridges

Junior Tillman< Freshman JJJ (although he could get more minutes, possibly have a bigger impact I’d say you have to go with JJJ, purely for talent reasons)

Freshman (definitely) Carey or (probably) Stewart > Sophmore Ward

I like a Senior backcourt a lot, and we have a lot of talent off our bench. Watts, Loyer, Brown, Bingham, Hall, Kithier (not as good defensively as last years bench but the offense won’t fall apart like last year when Tum Tum and Schilling came in, so I think that that bench would be better imo)

Not sure if they go 28-3 again, but I’m pretty confident to say that they go to at least the sweet 16.

Please explain what I’m so wrong about. I don’t think anything I’ve said is ridiculous. That would be a very good team, and I think they could make it to the sweet sixteen. That’s what I said.

I’ve also said if things go right. That team could very well be a top 5 team.

What I’m saying isn’t being a homer. That roster would be very good. Period.

Heard for months on end how amazing last years team was. How many tournament teams did they beat? Did they even make the Sweet 16?

We went 28-3 and won the Big Ten, but we shot awfully and lost in the round of 32. Sure it was disappointing, but it’s not like the season was a total failure.

Also, what I’m saying about he potential of the 2019-2020 team being very good isn’t a hyperbole. That would be a very good roster.

We went 28-3

You keep pounding this point like it supports how overconfident MSU fans were last season. How many tournament teams did you guys beat? I'll even let you include the conference tournament and NCAA tournament. 2? 3?
