*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

If that is an accomplishment then I don't get how Otte21, JohnHoosier, or any other Purdue fan can asterisk Beilein and Michigan for taking care of business as the higher ranked see in this most recent tournament run.
Not an accomplishment - just a stat for perspective when we talk about tournament "failures."

And you'd have to talk to those posters about that.

Word is um is about to land 2019 Washington wing Cole Bajema. Supposedly the biggest riser of the July period. National guys seem higher on him than the local guys that saw him at the um elite camp. Per 247 national guys this morning, “we feel he can play anywhere in the country.”

Any B1G schools doing any international trips this coming month? Most of those games should be beginning soon I would think.

Did Michigan offer? The article from this morning doesn't say that Michigan has offered.

Bro stop acting like finishing above 9th in the conference last year was some sort of accomplishment. You went 16-15 FFS. IU was NOT good last year. They weren’t even average as the standings might suggest. Sorry.
Meh. We were bad early. Got much better as the season went on. For what Miller had, going .500 to me actually is an accomplishment. We were terrible early. Bad enough to where I wasn t sure we'd win 5 conference games. Then DD got hurt. So I'm quite pleased with what Miller was able to do.
As for your example of Purdue losing more off a better team...thus not hurting as much.
Your stupid. Indiana lost two guys off a 16-15 team. Yes. But a 16-15 team that easily could've beaten Duke, UL, MSU, OSU and yes, Purdue. Your letting that 16-15 record cloud your rhoughts. IU easily could've been 19-12....20-11. Or better. But we couldn't finish games. W3 couldn't because of an inept PG. No shooter. Well, that problem has been addressed. So we shall see.

"Nojel Eastern is literally better at basketball than Romeo Langford yet baseball will argue Nojel is not Purdues best player while arguing Romeo is one of IUs best players all while trying to argue he thinks Indiana will be better than Purdue.

Lolwhat? Does not make any logicalsense."

Well it seems mr 2 pts per game is better than Romeo Langford, (top 5 recruit one of the best high school players and scorers in Indiana history) makes sense, probably why Purdue didn't want him. I should also mention that Eastern averaged a whole 1 assist per game as a point guard and shot a huge 41% from the foul line. Yuck. By all accounts they can think what they want, Eastern was terrible offensively last year and a liability on that end of the floor. The fact that Purdue will be relying on him more next year does not bode well for them. That being said they do have some fans in this thread claiming Boudreaux the next Robbie Hummel so I guess anything is possible.

Evan B. Shot 37% from three for his career there-you left out his 40% his freshman season. That’s the level Hummel and Moore shot from 3 so I’m confident in his ability to shoot.
Comparing a guy who shot 35 percent last year in the Ivy League to Hummel who shot 39 percent career from 3 in the big ten and also was an All American. It's like nobody is taking into account the competition difference along with his horrid assist-turnover ratio, and Purdue is going to be relying on him to be one of their main scorers. While these same people are on other boards claiming Romeo won't be that effective because he's just a freshman. lol
Literally no one has said that.
Looks like a comparison to me.

Last time I'll address this

Third time today I've been tagged in this thread. People need to realize I don't post here anymore, if you want my attention you can post on the Purdue board or Iowa board, where I post now. I also post a decent amount on the recruiting board.

But no matter how hard you beg me or how many times you try to tag me into discussions here, I will not come back and carry on these discussions with you guys tagging me.

I said he has shot a similar percentage to 2 guys everyone would consider a good shooter. He’s 37.9% for his career so far on over 3 attempts per game. Etwaun was 38% and Robbie 38.4. That’s all I said. I never even came close to saying he was Robbie Hummel. Give me a break with this hyperbole crap over and over.

You went from posting here to posting on the Iowa board?

I don’t doubt the assists numbers as Evan B. Was on a team that won 7 games and unless Painter brought him in to run PG or run the offense through him (which he didn’t) I don’t really care that a 6’8 forward only averaged 1 apg.

Robbie Hummel would argue against your position regarding 6'8 forwards.

Mgkcbb sure seems special, in a "look at me I'm an attention whore" sort of way...

I thought this response he made to your top 8 between IU and PU was epic. I guess I have a cynical nature, but does anyone seriously believe he'd be taking such an outspoken anti-Romeo stance if Romeo was a heralded PU recruit.? He seems to have a major (imo unjustified) crush on Haarms, but I'll just put this here and let folks judge for themselves...Two words - Ryan Cline

"I could not disagree anymore.

First of all, Romeo over HAARMS is so incredibly wrong, it would have to be considered openly trolling.

HAARMS had a Box +/- of 10.1 last season in limited time, so he's already proven to be an incredibly valuable player that positively impacts winning in ways most players dont.

Secondly, Juwan Morgan is the second best player of both rosters combined so having him third on Indiana is just so lol

In order:
Carsen Edwards

Juwan Morgan/Matt HAARMS
Aaron Wheeler / Nojel Eastern

Justin Smith

Ryan Cline / Romeo Langford"

Anytime I see someone act like CAM isn't a good coach because last years team struggled, it causes me to immediately realize how invalid their opinion is when it comes to basketball!

I'm seriously lost for words sometimes thinking about how people come to their conclusions. They completely ignore the fact that the previous years team was just as bad, if not worse. They also ignore that last years team lost the 3 best players from the previous years team that was ridiculously bad. Even though 2 of those players are in the NBA and one is in the starting lineup of one of the best teams.

How someone who truly understands basketball cant see the amazing strides last years teams made is beyond me. I cant think of many 500% seasons where I felt so much progress had been made in such a short time. Now, that's not saying they were great by the end of the year....they weren't even close to being even good imo. However, looking at all the holes on that team and not realizing that in all realities....they were lucky to win 12 games.

With what he started the season with, I couldn't be more impressed with how well he coached that team.

While I agree with some of what you said, let's not go overboard. There were some really bad losses, still a lot to prove.

I completely agree, it's why I said the team wasn't very good at all. However, for me personally, I cant think of many realistic things they could have improved more on with the cards he was dealt.

Also, I'm not saying that its unreasonable for someone to still have questions on how good of a coach he will be, but not just based on his team going 16-15 last year with what he started with.

Miller may turn out ok but reading this makes me think you have a schoolboy crush on the IU coach.

Within a few posts of each other we have one IU fan saying they were really a 20 win tream and another saying they were really lucky to win 13.
