Not a fan of dark humor, eh?

24-25 conference opponents announced. Hard to tell who has it toughest given we don't even have rosters set. No one stands out to me as yet. I like that they are going round robin with the west coast teams.

It’s going to be weird having only 3 home/away opponents, but overall, it should be fun playing these west coast squads.

Yep. Looks like they are setting it up smart so we make one trip to Cali every other year and a trip NW every other year.

Sucks for those schools having to come east for 7 games a season.

I think Isaw a photo of it being stripped.

"The goal of the court redesign is to lighten up the image, ultimately. While things looked bright and relatively pleasing to the eye in person, the television product of games at Matthew Knight Arena often left a lot to be desired, with the dark brown trees darkening the picture.

I am told that the new design will feature a much brighter overall image, with light wood and lighter colors being used."-DUCKS WIRE

BIG should have something to say about this.

Exerpt from an article in my feed. Alarming for the Golfers.

'Wolfson went on to claim the $500,000 Payne got from Texas A&M is more than the Gophers have in NIL money as a program, though specific program amounts are not public information so his claim can't be confirmed.'

Illinois’ squad is coming together nicely. Going to depend on who Underwood lands as his crowned jewel on the wing.

I definitely don’t want to turn over my entire roster every year, but filling up with freshmen to the point you can’t take a transfer is also objectively bad.
I think Painter gets the benefit of the doubt no? He’s only brought in 2 transfers total in the last 4 years. Jones was the missing piece last year but this year we’ll have to rely more on the newcomers in a reloading year.

I am not huge fan of Underwood’s roster management from a continuity perspective. But it’s hard in the NIL/poetal era to load up on freshmen, and expect them to become sophomores in your program.

I think the ideal is to hold a scholly or two open to fill in with transfers that meet needs. I like the 6 freshmen coming in but can’t help but assume 1 or 2 never contribute meaningful minutes.

I expect at least 4 of the 6 to stick around, and the ones that don't will likely be the worst ones that transfer out due to lack of PT, so I'm not too worried about it. The bigger challenge is expecting to get meaningful minutes from freshmen in the short term.

Will be interesting to see. Would have to guess Catchings doesn’t stay 4 years and maybe goes the way of Ivey and leaves after 2?

Very early, but ESPN has Catchings going 22nd in the next draft
