***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Toussaint will be more mature going into the season and pro

only in the standing and nothing more. but I wonder how Illinois had fared if they lost Ayo for the season? probably no better than NW or at best Minnesota. stop crowing after you 1st victory in 6 try's.

Only in standings and overall record.. you know, the things that measure whether or not you're better than a team.

Why don't you go cry in your car about Jordan Bohannon? If he wasn't so soft, he'd play, but that's what Iowa does. They fold when it matters, play no defense, and then whine about injuries and refs.

Might want to look at the all-time head to head record. Illinois owns you.

He did play. They cheated for 10 games knowing full well he would ask for a medical hardship. Fran can't even win anything while cheating.

can you even walk after having Hip surgery let alone 2.

real he man aren't you. I can play on a hip that needs surgery that's how tough you talk. when in fact you would pussy out and stay in a wheel chair for 6 months or longer then use crotches for the next year.

He played 10 games.

I've had 8 hip surgeries. My 9th is next week for fun. Never even used a wheelchair because of how much of a he man I am.

no cheating to it the NCAA allows a player to play 10 games. then can apply for a medical RS. everybody knew that Jordan wanted to play but it all depended on his hip allowing him to play. there were days when he didn't even practice because of his hip.

Evelyn as a GT was brought in just for that reason to replace JBo.

he gave it a go and he couldn't, can't fault him for that. excuse me but with JBo they don't lose a couple games like they did. this season ended better than most expected.

just like in FB player can play in up to 4 games and still keep their RS for that year.

in BB its no more than 10 or 33% or none after January 1st and still be eligible for a medical RS, Iowa followed the rules set down by the NCAA.

Nunge can apply for a 6th year if he wishes according to NCAA rules.

you don't want JBo back because he will make the 20-21 team better that the 19-20 team was/is.

I'm sure the NCAA will allow it, but it is kind of bending the rules. NCAA bylaw states that the injury must result in incapacity to compete for the remainder of the playing season. The injury already occurred - and yet he still played 10 games. To me, that demonstrates that he did have the capacity to compete with the hip injury. Was he 100%? No, of course not. But it obviously wasn't resulting in "incapacity to compete". If it was, he wouldn't have logged a single minute.

I want JBo back, so that we can break his hip. It wouldn't be hard, Iowa is so soft.

Did you see Underwood? If Fran had gone ballistic like he did a couple of times yesterday he'd have been T'd up and kicked out. Double standard just like the one on the floor. Big Ten basketball has become unwatchable. They way they let the other teams play, the arenas should be octagons.

If Illinois physically attacked people on the street they way they attacked Weiskamp and Fredrick yesterday, they'd all be in jail for assault.

Who recruited those Illinois players? Underwood and staff. They are 100% responsible for teaching them to play with their mouths and to play "defense" like street thugs. The evidence is clear. The fact that some of you ignore it doesn't alter it.

Found this on Iowa's board. Laughing

I didn't realize that calling everyone thugs was actually an Iowa thing.

in looking at it Iowa loses these with their replacements
CG Evelyn will be replaced by JBo who is the All Time leader in made 3's. also was/is on pace to set the new assist record in Iowa's all time book.

Till former walk on give a scholarship for his last season. replacement [if healthy] Patrick their best recruit in the 19 class 4* top 100 by both Rivals and ESPN.

Kriener replacement Nunge whose last 2 games before he tore his ACL
14 points 10 rebounds while Garza had these 30 points 10 rebounds
11 points 7 rebounds while Garza had these 29 points 12 rebounds

not a bad combination before he was lost for the season. this injury allowed teams to dbl and sometimes triple team Garza.

Why are you bringing facts into Iowa fight? Facts don't matter in Iowa.

Its terrible the ncaa is still using rpi for strength of schedule and it seems to be hurting quite a few b1g teams.

It’s going to be bad seedings across the board for the B1G.

Sucks for all those other teams catching B1G opponents way too early

Per Holtmann talking today:
“I love the B1G tournament but also can’t wait to get out of B1G play in NCAA tournament. I think we can play with anyone in the country and other B1G teams can also. With MSU, they were #1 at the beginning of the year and what I saw yesterday does not change anything in my mind.”

Uneven schedule, you would have lost @ Nebraska if you had to play there like we did.

I mean, I'm pretty sure we had the hardest road games in conference, and if we're not the hardest, we're right there.

We played (almost) your exact road schedule. Only difference was we got @nebraska versus @northwestern (tougher for us imo), but we got Michigan in MSG instead of in Ann Arbor.

Pretty close but I give you the edge slightly. Both were pretty brutal with only one road game each against teams that finished bottom four.

Granted I don't follow any of the streams of posts and back and forths you guys f***ing have with Gil, so I'm kinda dropping in randomly here, (so context?).......................
I'm sure the NCAA will allow it, but it is kind of bending the rules. (Mmmm, no, not really......) NCAA bylaw states that the injury must result in incapacity to compete for the remainder of the playing season. (Yeah.....he had f***ing surgery for it. "Blah blah blah gray area" we'll get into that later....) The injury already occurred - and yet he still played 10 games. (Cordell Pemsl did the same thing last year with his back injury, might've been his knee, but I don't care enough to look up what it was specifically. He played in a few games, and then shut it down for the season after the ISU game, and was granted the waiver. It is not like this is some uncommon thing that Iowa is exploiting.) To me, that demonstrates that he did have the capacity to compete with the hip injury. Was he 100%? No, of course not. But it obviously wasn't resulting in "incapacity to compete". (You're either reading into that what you want.....or spinning it so you can troll Gil.) If it was, he wouldn't have logged a single minute. (That's not the point of the rule though. There's a reason they permit players to compete in a certain number of games.)

Thanks for trying though.....

I'm not disputing that the NCAA will grant the medical hardship. I just think the potential ruling on it would contradict the actual bylaw. The injury is supposed to result in incapacity to compete. The injury was already there - and he played with it.

No matter. His defense is so bad Iowa might actually have a net loss in production when he returns.

Iowa w/Bohannon > Duke

Iowa w/o Bohannon > Duke
