***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

B1G going with the Iowa defensive strategy and only playing 4 on defense.
It's based on the shot clock. 30-20 seconds = 3 guys on D, 20-12 = 5 guys, under 12 seconds it's either just the guy on the ball or 0 on defense.

I'm not disputing that the NCAA will grant the medical hardship. I just think the potential ruling on it would contradict the actual bylaw. The injury is supposed to result in incapacity to compete. The injury was already there - and he played with it.

No matter. His defense is so bad Iowa might actually have a net loss in production when he returns.

this is the possible lineup with the backups
PG/1 Toussaint backup Ulis/JBo
SG/2 Fredrick backup JBo/Perkins
WG/3 Wieskamp backup Patrick/Kris Murray
WG/F/4 Connor backup Pemsl/Keegan Murray/Nunge
C/5 Garza backup Nunge/Ogundele
top 8
Toussaint
Fredrick
Wieskamp
Connor
Garza
JBo
Pemsl
Nunge
the other will play in scrub minutes. also if Patrick is cleared to play Pemsl minutes might/will go down. then the team can go 9 deep. nobody will need to play 40 minutes and there is enough depth that the need for the players to avg over 30 mpg will not be necessary. this will eliminate tired legs at the end of the season.

Ayo Dosunmu - 1st team B1G

Kofi Cockburn - Freshman of the year

Hell yeah

You’re wrong. Them play optional D.
if you say so. they improved their defense again. Toussaint was/is the team leader in steal who is the most athletic player on the team.

a key part of any good defense.
Connor was 2nd on the team in steals
Fredrick when healthy is very solid perimeter defender.
Garza has 55 blocks so far with 26 steals
Wieskamp has 32 steals

last season Cook had 24 steals and 18 blocks, Garza has more than replaced him.

Unbiased opinion- Teske>>Garza

I would definitely take Teske over Garza.

Your reasoning is weak. You look at stats from the Freshman year to prove who is better now. Garza also put up those stats on Iowa, a worse team and a faster team and a worse defensive team than UM.

I would definitely take Teske.

Nice try. Most wins in a 4-year period by Iowa is 8, from 1980-1983. Michigan has won 9 NCAAT games in the last 3 years.

It doesn't. Just thought it was quick way to shut you up. But for the record, Teske is better than Garza.

Oturu > Slow Eyebrow (AKA Garza)

Not sure if I have any direct quotes out there shitting on Garza, and I did make the case that he's a good offensive player coming into the season, but I'm happy to eat crow on Garza. I shat on him plenty in the past and he became an offensive force. Would've never expected that kind of progression from him.

Glad I don't make any outrageous predictions...

Imagine having a legit NPOY candidate and not getting a double bye RollLaughRollLaughRollLaugh
It’s bad, but not record breaking bad. According to Monkey, the worst for a team with a B1G POY winner was OSU in 1987 that finished as the #6 seed in conf. tourney.

Yep, Garza proved me wrong and I have no idea what happened to Teske this year. He was poised to be an All Big Ten level player and fell apart.

Wieskamp made 3rd team. Good for a guy who has been a no-show for a month
he did avg 14 points and 6.1 rebounds, compare that to Cook JR season
14.5 points pg and 7.6 rpg

do you always have to bitch about a Iowa player that doesn't play up to your expectations [demands]

I think you’re being trolled.

Redshirt sophomore Connor McCaffery is a recipient of Iowa’s Big Ten Men’s Basketball Sportsmanship Award

Well deserved SmokinSmile

For Archie to make the tournament with only one player even half mentioned is impressive.
