*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

Gonna find out quickly how good Iowa really is: First three Big 10 games are vs Wisky, @ MSU and @ Purdue. Lose tomorrow, and Iowa could easily being looking at an 0-3 start.
I'm starting to think Iowa will be better then what everyone thought preseason. But, I think everyone said they should be good IF they get the defense worked out. I think everyone assumed that their offense was going to be good.

Not sure what you're referring to....I just found out he was a Michigan fan a couple of weeks ago.

Bringing you up in this discussion was simply him trying to deflect...and nothing else!
I was talking to Hail. He always likes to remind people when they are wrong---And remind you when he is right. its his thing. Roughly 95% of his post is him trolling. Its what he does.

That is, until UM plays OSU in football. Keeps him quite for a bit. Its why I love that game so much. Meyer owns Harbchoke. Gives the board a few days of solitude.

Oh I knew you were talking to him. I just wanted to make sure you knew you were wrong. He is the complete opposite of being a homer...just ask him.

Oh yeah, I saw your post about doing the NA game. If you remember, try to remind me as we get closer. I'd love to swing by to see the game and to say hi. My daughter and I have been wanting to get to one of their games this year.

They are better than I thought---I think? Iowa has done this before---Then got their brains beat in once BT rolled around. Tomorrow vs WIsky is huge. As I said, after that, they go to MSU and Purdue. Their defense has looked better---But against, who? Oregon is the best team they have played offensively; AdjO 28th. "Held" them to 69. I watched that gem though. Oregon missed a ton of gimmie's and wide open three's.

So who knows. Gonna find out soon enough.

Will do. They play Floyd Central. So it'll be a goodie to attend.

I agree completely...actually, I put them in the same category with Nebraska. Both teams are going to have to prove it since we've seen this before.

1st. Its apparent that me calling you a homer has caused you stress....for this..I apologize!

2nd. I think you're mistaken....I never said that anything you've said about Michigan has been rational.

So were my predictions rational or irrational?

Lets talk about this. You seem to love to bring this up. I said they would be a tournament team last year---They was not. Nevermind the injuries or the transfers. They didn't make the tourney. SO, well, ok. BUt what was so outlandish about thinking they would be an NCAAT team?

This year I said they were going to be good. Really good. I still think they will be. A lof of that will depend on them getting healthy.

In 2012 I felt we were going to be solid. Added Zeller. And well, we were. 2013 I thought we had FF talent---And we did. 2014 most knew were in trouble. 2015 was bad. Most felt, including myself, felt we could be pretty good in 2016. We were.

Dude you act as if I oversell IU every year. Like I am picking them to be a Top, Final Four team. I haven't. I predicted IU to go 10-8 last year in the Big 10; They went 9-9. And if not for a 30-foot buzzer beating three by OSU, they would have been 10-8. Just lost some head scratchers that was too much to overcome.

Anyways---this year I said 22 wins. I still think that is a reasonable number. I said Top 4 in the conference. Possibly higher. So we shall see. I wil say this, though........

Man you had better hope UM continues to cash the checks your mouth is writing.

I predicted Michigan would be about a top 15-20 team this year. That’s writing a lot of checks?

And let’s not pretend like it matters how well Michigan does. Michigan had a way better season than I said they would last year and you guys still troll about their regular season and say my prediction last year of a sweet 16 caliber team was being a homer.

During the summer, your take wasn't the most rational. If we're simply looking at everything on paper, it didn't warrant how cocky and bullish you were on them.

If a guy sells everything he owns and screams everyday for the last 20 years that the world is going to end...most would consider him irrational. Then if the next day an asteroid hits the earth most people would still consider him irrational...he just finally got lucky.

It's not rational to lose a huge chunk off of a team that for the majority of the season looked average and then to assume that they were the overwhelmingly best team the following year. It just isn't!

@IUfanBorden
@jace46555

Shoot me straight. I have hopes that one of you can do that. Have any of these predictions been unreasonable?

I already answered above...I don't believe everything we knew on paper this summer warranted how bullish you were.

About any actual prediction...I can say that I think IU will only go 10 and 10 this year. But, if everyone of my posts before and after that are me explaining why their better then everyone else...that 10 and 10 prediction means nothing.

Calling Michigan a top 15-20 team is being too confident in Michigan? That was literally my prediction. I predicted they would go 9-2 in OOC and they might end up undefeated. That was too confident?

Michigan returned three starters from a national championship team. Michigan returned 3 starters from a team that won 33 games last year and brought in a top 10 recruiting class. Michigan returned its top 3-4 defenders from a team that was top 5 defensively last season. Predicting they would be a top 15-20 team is rational.

That had less to do with me thinking Michigan was elite and more to do with me thinking Michigan was the best team in a conference deep with good teams but not elite at the top.

I had Michigan winning the conference, I had Michigan and MSU about even but Michigan taking the conference because of an easier schedule. I thought Michigan and Michigan State were both about 15th the country with Indiana, Purdue, Nebraska al being around 25-35.

Michigan didn't bring in a top 10 class!?

Whatever, bud...you're right I'm wrong and you're not a homer. I still don't understand why this bothered you so much

Not going to win them all. We also have Iowa State mixed in there. Very tough stretch. Might not be ranked in a couple of weeks.

Harbaugh is cursed for picking his sister's shit stain of a husband over Beilein a few years back.

Turquoise for Native American Heritage Month or … something like that.
I like 'em.
But, I'm not old and crotchety like some.
I wasn’t hating on them. I was just confused. Thanks for the info.

Michigan Is the Most Perfect Team in College Basketball

"Having spent more than half of my life with access to the internet, I have become so desensitized that almost nothing makes me squeamish anymore. But I’ll be honest: ESPN’s broadcast on Wednesday night left me extremely unsettled, to the point that I have half a mind to write a letter to the Federal Communications Commission. And, folks, I’m not just talking about Ignas “Iggy” Brazdeikis’s haircut. I’m talking about ESPN allowing every second of Michigan’s rout of North Carolina to unfold live on its airwaves. After taking the first eight minutes of the game to properly calibrate the torture chamber that is their defense, the Wolverines absolutely suffocated one of the best offenses in college basketball and held the Heels to 39 percent shooting from the field in an 84-67 win. Cameron Johnson, Carolina’s leading scorer heading into Wednesday, was MIA for so much of the game that he might as well have stayed in Chapel Hill. All-American Luke Maye shot just 4-for-12 from the field, future lottery pick Nassir Little was 1-for-5, and Roy Williams’s brain was so broken that he gave Little just 16 minutes of playing time off the bench and started pulling hockey line changes when the game was still within reach.

It was a thorough ass-kicking, and the most terrifying thing of all is that it was the worst defensive performance that Michigan has put forth this season. Two weeks after shredding defending national champion Villanova on the road, the no. 7 Wolverines sit at 7-0, have blown out every team they’ve faced, and have the best defense in college basketball by a significant margin. It’s time to start asking a question that, as of a month ago, seemed too ridiculous to even entertain: Could this Michigan team really be better than last year’s team that won 33 games and finished as the national runner-up?"

Poor, I saw the thread on tMB and was wondering if anybody had some insight.

Apparently posters found an unused unmoderated TCU board and posted tons of porn. Which is a little weird like somekinda online circlejerk. jv mods and posters were baint forever.
