*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

Completely random stat alert. In Purdue's 4 road games, opponents have all shot well above their season average from the free throw line. They collectively shot 86.8% from the line against Purdue. They are collectively at 69.8% for the year.

I fully expect Ethan Happ to go 8-10 from the line Friday.

Painter needs to coach up that FT defense.

He was 2-2 last time out. Might need to bump that to 10-10.

I would assume a team would shoot a better ft% at home. Whats their collective % at home vs games vs purdue?

Where is ThreeTwaun? He didn’t hesitate to come in and pound his chest over his Carsen Edwards take. Now that 17ppg Carsen has struggled in conference play he’s nowhere to be seen.

I don't have time to look at them all but form MSU:

Home - 71.2%
Road - 75.3%
Neutral - 66.2%
Overall - 72.3%

It’s just because Ward shot 100% from the stripe. Usually not that good.

It doesn’t matter anyways. MSU still wins have won if we shot 72%

So maybe we should've only beat you by 16 instead of 19.

Laughing

we had no chance in the 2 games in michigan, but fsu, nd and texas all shot FTs wayyyyy above their averages against us (especially the horns, who typically suck from the stripe), and all 3 of those were very winnable IMO (altho Carsen went 0/2 from the stripe to seal the fsu game, so we dug our own grave there)

Nah Romeo's the chucker, Carsen is just a really heady basketball player trying to carry his team. :rolleyes:Nevermind he's shooting like 30% in Big10 play, and nevermind he was 3-16 from the floor and he had 0 assists last night. I mean 0 assists!? How is that even possible when you are drawing all of the attention he does? He literally shot them out of the game in the second half.

0 assists is a crazy stat. In fact in his last 3 games he's 8-30, 26.6%, from 3 with 2 assists total.

And 7 turnovers in that 3 game span, with 4 last night.

Can't comment on the Iowa or Belmont games as I didnt watch those, but you have to give McQuaid and Henry props for locking him down last night. They had a hand in his face all night long, and even the bigs were hedging out to help.

Hopefully the rest of the Big Ten uses this strategy. Even covered tightly he is still going to get his shots up. There will likely be more games like this for him this season.

He might have a few more games like that, but you know he's gonna burst out in a few games as well. Too good not to.

Plus not sure he'll see many more defenses like MSU and Michigan. I think Wisconsin is the only other (current) top20 defense he'll see

Close and definitely a good point. And we travel to Wisky Friday.

Defensive ratings:

4 Michigan

14 Wisconsin
15 MSU

19 PSU
22 OSU
27 Northwestern

34 IU
36 Rutgers

45 Maryland
47 Nebraska
53 Minnesota

70 Purdue

83 Illinois

123 Iowa

BTW, I'm sure IU fans will grab Purdue's 70th defensive rating and make fun as they seem to post more about Purdue than their own team. So I'll add that Purdue's OppO SOS to date is 2nd nationally. Just a brutal schedule.

Damn, UM doesn’t havent to play at Purdue, OSU, or Nebraska. They got one of the easier schedules.

How does it feel to be someone who even fans of your own team thinks you're an idiot?

Considering i don't care about what any random online person thinks of me im not quite sure how to answer your idiotic question. Besides, the purdue posters who do comment here are shit tier level idiots who think they're somehow superior to homeboard posters since they comment on the national board a lot.

You guys lose Morgan and you are toast. Hell you are the biggest crybaby on here when it comes to the impact of losing players. How many posts do you have lamenting the impact of losing role players? Answer- a lot. Now if you lose Morgan it’s “next man up”. LMFAO. You are the definition of homer.,
Lol....Carsen was special last night, wasn't he. Tried to tell ya what happens when Carsen is a no-show, AND the three ball ain't falling.

Ass whooping.

Lol at thinking @mathboy and @Ignacious McNutt are good posters. The posters here are superior to them. Especially @otte21 @Toast. and @CardinalBoiler

Turge went to a zone last night and Minny didn't know what to do. I can't remember the last time he did that.

Pretty sure he watched tapes of Minnie vs BC in the Challenge... Wonder why Lil' Ricky didn't watch the same tapes?

Where did i ever say they were good posters? I didn't. They are probably top 5 worst. What ******s like snu will have you believe is that everyone on that site is pumping sunshine and rainbows when that's far from the truth. Most posters are mad at how the season is going due to painters shitty recruiting and roster mismanagement.

I mean, you really don't understand---do you? Losing Morgan would be HUGE. In no way am I downplaying that. BUT......IU has the luxury of ANOTHER go to guy. ANd not just some got to go...But a potential, god damn lottery pick.

Is it really that hard for you to understand? I mean, fvck.

Here---I'll type slow:

Carsen out----Purdue leans on Ryan Cline.

Morgan out---IU leans on Romeo Langford.

DO.YOU.UNDERSTAND.?

Many would agree. I personally think that Simpson, Poole, Matthews, and Brazdeikas all have arguments but Simpson is probably the most important player on our team.
Many would agree that Simpson is Michigan's best player?

Ok.
