There was some tweet that went across my feed about a month ago that had the DMV the number 1 recruiting area in football and basketball, I wish I could find it. If we could keep guys home we could be decent.
One of the crazier half time adjustments ever.
Brohm came out in the third quarter and had Sindelar target Anthony Mahoungou on like 6 of the first 7 plays...and those 7 plays resulted in two touchdowns. Literally just kept throwing to him against the same cornerback.

gotta say i'm pretty intrigued to watch wisco with a qb that actually has talent.
Besides IUs first three buy games the schedule is solid. I like having South Dakota State and Princeton to go with the power conference teams

I love the B1G and realize how fortunate my alma mater is to be a part, but below are the two early December games we have gotten since the league went to the format in '17-'18. The league is not exactly greasing the skids for a quick start for my guys.

I don't think that's unreasonable. I went through (albeit quickly) IU's schedule and came up with 11-9 or something like that. I'll look through it closer later and do the same as you did here.

Seriously though when Brohm came in his team had the recruiting rankings of 68, 68, 73, 71 to work with. He miraculously won 7 games with that team when his predecessor won 6 in 3 years combined.
Not to mention Archie took over a top 5 blue blood program. Brohm took over maybe a top 5 B1G west football program.

Just because IU is a blue blood doesn't mean a coach can come in and immediately have a high level of success. Hell in his second year, half his team missed time because of injuries and most people here still don't give him any slack. He took over a flawed roster without a real (non injured) center. Still hasn't stopped Purdue fans from grilling him as if he's some mediocre at best coach...Tell that to this guy

I want to say 17 wins is ridiculous, but it's not. This is the best Illinois has been in awhile, so I fully expect us to not steal one against you now. We only do that when you guys completely look past us.

I agree re your comment on a high level of success. But I’d argue he still had enough talent (even with the injuries) to at least make the tournament imo.
I agree completely. Doesn't mean that he had what was needed especially considering his style/system was totally different than Crean's.
