You were talking about the assistant coach hire until you edited your post. I don’t associate Snow with IU.He didn’t mention Snow, did he?
If you’re going to insinuate I’m obsessed with Brian from GBI, then you might as well call out your own and their obsession with Rabs and Snow. K? Thanks. You were talking about the assistant coach hire until you edited your post. I don’t associate Snow with IU.
I’m talking about Snow as a talent evaluator, I don’t give a shit that he posts on peegs. I’ve had the same opinion of Snow way before peegs switched platforms. Brian/Rabjohns have nothing to with anything here.If you’re going to insinuate I’m obsessed with Brian from GBI, then you might as well call out your own and their obsession with Rabs and Snow. K? lol I wasn't even trolling. I have some good contacts in the industry. I know TCU guy turned down IU (he was only one I know for sure did). I think a lot of people are skeptical of Archie's job security. Doesn't mean he won't last, but people out there aren't willing to go to IU when he could be gone after this year or the next.@roadblock19 was the only one being trolly.
Nah I believed your reasoning but the “most sane people can see Archie’s going to get canned, etc. can’t say I blame them” “Rabby’s back on the booze” just seemed a little trolly.lol I wasn't even trolling. Rabby has his own issues (we all do), but today was a bad look for him.
Trolling would be pointing out how weird Romeo's announcement was:
grown men tailgating in their candy stripe pants
his pastor comparing him to Abe Lincoln (lol)
or his dad holding up an adidas sock (guess we know why now)

Zero chance he’s gone after this year and almost zero chance he’s gone after the following year.lol I wasn't even trolling. I have some good contacts in the industry. Agreed, it’s silly to say that Archie’s job security is in jeopardy without seeing how this season plays out. If they have a repeat of last season, than he goes on the hot seat and probably gets one more “prove” it season. However, they could easily pull things together this year and make it a moot point.Nah I believed your reasoning but the “most sane people can see Archie’s going to get canned, etc. can’t say I blame them” “Rabby’s back on the booze” just seemed a little trolly.
not that it bothers me one bit

Yep. As we’ve discussed, this season can make his seat very cool or very hot.Right now before the start of his 3rd season he isn’t even close to the hot seat. A lot can change from now until March but right now he isn’t even close.
A clown was kept on sidelines for 9 years.

Personally I find it fun to point out how much he’s underachieved considering a big swath of IU’s fanbase’s expectations. On the other hand, it’s easy for me to understand that it’s not always easy to turn around a program in two years...though I think some of his coaching has played a part in that.
the big arch will get it turned around, just needs a few more years
Tend to agree, though I still think this team has like a 7 seed type ceiling and not sure how much good will that’ll buy him.I like what’s being built but this season needs to “exceed” the preseason expectations. If IU ends up where the preseason expectations say it will be a nasty offseason.
Those same preseason expectations can make him look like a ****ing god. It will be interesting to see where it goes

But I do think the following year could be his year.
It would be a good year for him.7 seed in the NCAA tournament would go a long way...and yes I know that is pathetically sad
It would be a good year for him.
I just think a bad season could undo that pretty quickly...however I think that following season sets up well for Archie.
Damn that's a bummer. At least you're in Chicago at a good time of year.Agree 100% regardless I’ll be here to watch it go down.
I hate I am missing a chance to root against Purdue in Reno. ****ing work is making me go to Chicago next Wednesday through Sunday. My boss and his parents are going to the UNR Purdue game though
Illinois is out. Thank his AAU team for that.Sounds like Purdue is making up ground on Illinois for Ryan Kalkbrenner's services. He is having an official visit September 7th, along with commits Jaden Ivey and Ethan Morton and 2021 target Trey Kaufman.
I know Dickinson is the higher rated recruit but I might like Kalkbrenner's flexibility more.

Yep, going separate ways. If it weren't for Ayo, MIF wouldn't be worth the headache.out on Kalkbrenner?
Well, I like that news. It makes me think he’s Purdue’s to lose now. I guess Stanford is still in play too but I always felt Illinois was the biggest threat.Yep, going separate ways. If it weren't for Ayo, MIF wouldn't be worth the headache.

Hated playing for the fire. Doesn't see playing time in our frontcourt. We're not Kentucky, so apparently, we can't sell coming in and sitting a year or two to a top 100 guy.Can you elaborate at all?

This. Unless Haarms somehow leaves early after a blow out season while shooting and hitting a bunch of threes there won’t be much playing time at the center spot for any freshman next season.Interesting because it’s not like Purdue has significant playing time available in the front court with Haarms and Williams.
That is weird. Besides Kofi & alphabet soup, is there anyone else in front of him? Purdue will have Haarms/Trevion/Dowuona as Centers ahead of him age-wise. I would think Painter will push for him to redshirt if he does commit to Purdue.Hated playing for the fire. Doesn't see playing time in our frontcourt. Yeah, who knows. He had a long sit-down with Antigua where they put it all on the table, and that was what Kalk said. Could be SO/JR vs FR/SO. Kofi doesn't expect to be here more than two years either - reality or not. Might have just been an easy excuse.Interesting because it’s not like Purdue has significant playing time available in the front court with Haarms and Williams.

And it's really weird because he was vibing with us for a long time, and all of a sudden that matters. Me thinks there's more to the story.

I think it was @CardinalBoiler that coined that one lol
We're on the Purdue trajectory. We'll be pretty damn good in a decade!Interesting. IF (and that's still a big if) this goes Purdue's way, this would be a bit of the opposite of what has typically happened. Purdue is in on a guy from the start, guy loves Painter/Purdue and is considered a Purdue lean, and then some other team swoops in and lands him at the end. Would be nice to be on the other side of that equation.

painter's recruiting hasn't really even improved much on paper if at all. both our 2020 recruits are fringe top 100. he just picks better culture fits imo.
