We won there 2 years ago. You guys have a 1 year winning steak in Assembly Hall. It’s a game I could very well see us drop. I will say that 17-3 may be a bit of a reach, but I think this team is that good. Hopefully I’m right.

That's fair. I think one or two more wins last year would have done it and that 13 loss skid was unacceptable with multiple winnable games in there. I'm not letting Archie off blame free, don't get me wrong. I just don't think we can lay all of the blame on Archie and his coaching ability considering the injuries he's dealt with.
True. I also think it’s dumb to compare rebuilding a football program versus basketball because in basketball it’s much easier to overhaul a roster with only 13 scholarships. Bring in a good class and you’re well on your way. In football, tough to overhaul an 85 man roster in a short period of time. I’d say one of Purdue’s biggest issues was neglecting both the offensive and defensive lines during the Haze era. Brohm has been slowly bringing it back but the o-line guys that could contribute from day 1 in most cases are going to bluebloods. Takes time to build the lines back up to normal standards.

17-3 is possible, but I would probably say we drop another random game somewhere that you listed as a W. Happens every single year.
Agreed. I think at UM will be a tough game to win, as I think they will be very motivated. Illinois with their havoc creating style of defense seems to give us fits. At Wisconsin or IU could be an L as well.
With our very very difficult non conference schedule and playing in the Big Ten, I would be surprised if we went 28-3 or better.
We’re going to be very good, but I don’t think we are head and shoulders above the rest. I’d say 5 or 6 losses in total would be my guess

Iowa will play @ Michigan and H Minnesota as the 2 BT Games in Dec. they also will play 14 teams that were in last season FPI Top 100.
Hunter Dickinson, Nimari Burnett, Lance Ware, and Jace Howard visiting September 5th. A four man class of Burnett, Dickinson, Jackson, Howard would be sweet.
Meh.... Seven (7 )roational players missed over a combined 70 games. Injuries impact your chemistry...practice ability....team development...individual develipmemt. Now, I do not think that team should have lost 12 of 13. But Archies roster wasn t deep enough to endure those types of losses. Hell , I'm not sure many teams could endure those types of losses. When healthy, IU was something like 17-5 or 6; started 12-2. Finished semi-strong...laid an egg vs OSU. Still, Archie had IU within one win of making the NCAAT. With all the injuries, suspension to Green...I was pleasantly surprised we won 19 games. And something not to be lost on was Langfords injury. Really limited his game. But look, it's time to win. Gotta find ways to win , when shits wrong. One issue I had was him waiting so long to go " Hey ,we gotta shake things up." But then agaun, with limited resources , what do you do?
Looking forward tonthe season. Especially if Hunter is 100%. He's our wildcard.
Basketball/football are two different animals . One recruiting class can change your season in basketball. CAN. BUT...one class in football ain't doing that. Games are just difderent. Though , we are now in year three for both. IMO, we both will get a good feel of where we are at with both coaches . I like both dudes. I think both are gonna win. But...Winning at WKU/Dayton, is a lot different than winning at Purdue/Indiana.
