Couldn't we say the same the same thing going into last year too? I'd argue on paper, the gap wasn't significant but we saw a big difference in the final standings. I realize you guys had some injuries but don't think it was enough to justify the difference between 1st and 9th in the conference.

As Bull said they lost 12/13 some shit went on but the chances of that happening again seem very slim.

Yes, and I did along with numerous people here. IIRC, people thought IU would be fourth(ish) and Purdue was fifth or something like that. I am recalling people had IU and PU in similar spots. Purdue out performed all expectations and IU's injuries impacted them enough to drop them down from 4th or 5th consideration to 9th. The combination of the two, in my opinion, explain the standings last year.

I don't think what happened last year has any bearing on what will happen this coming season considering both teams lost the two best players on each team who were guys responsible for a ton of production.

Except that one team finished first and the other finished tied for 8th lol Cline was seen as a non-threat until this year when he had the chance to play more. Sometimes context matters.

I just read that Kinght showed up on campus. The first time in 19 years. He showed up to watch the baseball game.

Good for him. He needs to bury the hatchet before he dies.

His health isn’t great, he’s literally losing his mind. Someone on homeboard mentioned maybe he forgot he hated IU. I laughed just a little bit. Pretty sure he got banned.

Except that Cline still took over 300 3pt shots his career prior to his senior season. He hit a high percentage of those as well at 39%, 41% and 40% prior to his senior year. He took and made more 3pt shots in his junior year than Hunter and Stefanovic combine and more than Wheeler stand alone. Just some additional context that matters....

Those three (Hunter, Stefanovic, Wheeler) hit a grand total of 66 3pt shots last year. Cline and Edwards combined hit 246 who won't be on the team this year. Even more context that matters....

I don’t know what to expect from hunter in terms of shooting this season but I expect both Wheeler and Stefanovic to be above average from three. I don’t expect any one individual to be as good as a senior Cline, no. But as a collective group I don’t think there’s going to be a big drop off from the perimeter.

And I don't think anyone here is saying you're going to be bad or have a big drop off. However, expecting your guys to improve and IU's guys to not improve doesn't make any sense. This is the whole argument for you and other Purdue fans for putting Purdue 3rd and IU 9th.

I didn’t say I’m not expecting IU’s guys to improve. I just like Purdue’s roster better than IU’s. It’s just one opinion though.

Also, I appreciate arguing with a rival fan base. It’d be too boring without it. I appreciate our collective shit-posting IU fans.

He’s going to be a stud

Needs to get a little stronger and work on his 3 point shot. Would love for Bruno to come back, but I say there’s a .001% chance at that. Will probably have Stix slide to the 5 and apparently Donta Scott at the 4. They are really high on him. Mitchell twins off the bench.

Good for you guys. I never thought he would leave though. Bruno for sure, but JS seems to need another year. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone after next though.
Yeah, Sticks is the epitome of a guy who can take himself from a fringe first rounder to a lottery pick by having a great sophomore season. Dude has all the tools, just needs to refine and show them off.

Damnit

Who's shit-posting? You made a claim and were questioned. Nobody called you a homer or trolled you. Just questions on why you think Purdue would finish third without much to go on in terms of well known producing players.

OK never did understand how their metric works. ESPN shows the actual % and where teams stand,

either way the gap between Purdue 3% and Indiana 3% is a lot wider than a certain IU poster refuses to admit.
The discussion is around the projected gap for this coming season. Everyone is in agreement that the 3pt percentage gap was very large between the two teams last season.

I just meant I enjoy arguing with IU fans. Shit-posting comment was just a joke.

it will take a lot of improvement on Indiana's part to close the gap. this season's numbers are a good indication for next season, its already been shown who has left and who returns with %'s.

what I don't recall seeing is the incoming players and their %'s, incoming players % do carry over, more times than not.

some don't which is to be expected but they do affect the teams %'s.

its a wait and see for me and this pissing match between a couple Indiana fans and a couple Purdue fans is a waste of time. not mention is boring as hell.
discussing it is not the problem. the rest is just a penis measuring contest.

I'm not a mind reader, but let's just say his projection on Iowa includes a certain Tyler Cook on the roster....

No way in heaven or hell that Iowa finishes top ten next year.
jealous because MD can't make the top 25.
it will be interesting to watch. they went from not even being a afterthought to making the 32 in the NCAAT after being in the top 25 for a while. a few years ago they were as high as 3rd in the rankings. so its not that far fetched.
