Someone is good enough for IU and Purdue yet has to redshirt at Iowa their sophomore year? Lol
yup he RS to put on weight and get used to the growth spurt from 6'8- 7'0 and 220 lbs to 250 lbs, and yet Iowa went 23-12 with a win in the BTT and NCAAT.
just which one of these he going to replace/take minutes from
Cook 31 minutes 14.5 ppg 7.6 rpg
Garza 23.6 mpg 13.1 ppg 4.5 rpg
Jordan 31.1 mpg 11.6 ppg 3.4 apg
Wieskamp 27.7 mpg 11.1 mpg 4.9 rpg
now smartass who was going to sit so Nunge could start?
come on you know everything so answer the F'N question otherwise STFU.
this fall Cook is gone so his starting spot is open to ever can earn it.

Fredric came in and RS @6'4 170 lbs and now is 6'3 190 lbs shrunk 1" and gained 20 lbs

Uthoff went to Wisconsin and RS and it helped as a RSSR ended up a 1st Team All BT and 2nd Team AA.

Baer RS and a RSSO was named the BT's 6th MOY.

Bo Ryan of Wisconsin RS'd many of the bigs he brought in and they did just fine if not better than fine
@jwardelt need your thoughts on Ryans players that RS. did it help or hurt the team and players?

Don't listen to the haters, Gilligan. Nunge is absolutely good enough to play for IU.

correction on Nunge he actually came in @ 6'9 185 lbs out of HS that's why he played and started at the 3. growing 3+" and putting on 65 lbs is not something you get used to it takes time HS year TO now he went from 180 to 250 lbs and went from 6'9 to 7'+

maybe you woulkd be a big enough moron to play him during that growth

The fact doesn’t change that he wasn’t good enough for Purdue out of high school and still isn’t today.

Lol since when do teenagers shrink an inch?

they shrink when they are over what there actual heights were listed at in HS,

you keep telling yourself that he isn't good enough for by the super elite Purdue team. never knew that the only players good enough were the 5* 1 n done super studs. oh let me know when Painter lands his 1st 5* 1 n done super stud will you.

Who would he play over on Purdue’s roster? Haarms? Nope. Williams? Lol. Wheeler? Nope

Powell would be a good pickup for Iowa. They need more athleticism in the front court and that kid has a high ceiling.

Plus, when your backcourt is a spitting image of the Brady Bunch, you’re gonna need a rim protector.

Depends on the kid. Some it was stupid because they sucked and took up a scholarship for 5 years. Others benefitted. 5th year senior bigs can be a great asset. So can regular seniors. It’s an inexact science.

Who would he play over on Purdue’s roster? Haarms? Nope. Williams? Lol. Wheeler? Nope
as a FR I would say Haarms. for this reason alone then the others
Nunge has range to 3 and is more of a scoring threat, Nunge had 21 steals and 25 blocks.
Garza and Nunge combined for 57 blocks
going 19 of 57 3's
75.5% from the FTL
15.7 mpg
plus Nunge is more versatile than Haarms,
Haarms stats
22.9 mpg
8 steals
74 blocks
69.5% from the FTL
7-25 from 3

I will let other determine which one they would play. that if they can get past the fact that he plays for Fran
now that he's had a year to get used to the growth and development @ 7'+ and 250 lbs, he will be a key force in the middle for Iowa just like Woodbury only with a better scoring option and shot blocking presence,

in Iowa's case these were RS'd
Uthoff by Bo
Baer by Fran
Moss by Fran academics played a part
Meyer by Fran transferred to Houston after his RS season
Hutton by Fran transferred to Indian Hills after his RS season
the 1st 3 had good careers, the last 2 were here for just 1 season so none of them hurt Fran has he was able to replace them both after just 1 season.

Now these 2
Nunge by Fran to put on good weight and get used to his growth spurt,
Pemsl surgery to his knee caused the RS
Fredrick under weight to actually be ready to play,
maybe Jordan due to hip surgery

I guess you could say Fran is getting lucky with the RS and why,

that's racist.

Toussaint does not look like a Brady to me, plus there are a lot of D1 teams that use White SG's and SF/WG's

never knew that having a pair of top 100 White SF's as starters, I remember a guy named Luke Recker who was pretty good plus there was another by the name of Decker or Dekker don't remember the correct spelling.

Out at “Nunge is more versatile than Haarms.” Legit lol.

Nunge would be like the 4th or 5th big guy off Purdue’s bench.

since when did Haarms show the ability to play the 3 or the point on the press?

Nunge has started at the 3 which where he got most of his steals. gee never knew Haarms had the ability to play the 3 let alone have the ability to guard the 3 or handle the ball like a 3.

oooo Haarms can block shots color me unimpressed

hey people have you heard NBA teams are already putting package deals just so they can draft Haarms with the #1 pick in the 2020 draft. the rumor is the Lakers are going to trade Lebron and the next 3 years #1 draft picks just to get the greatest player in the World Haarms of the Purdue Boilermakers.

Nunge is so good that he played 0 minutes last season for a bubble team. Kid must be dynamite.

I have re-upped twice doing it before, but they wouldn't allow me to a couple years ago. So when they offered it ~6months ago, sames.. I ended up emailing someone at Yahoo or Rivals and they said ~it's to bring in new subscribers, not for current ones.

Which, imo, is buIIshIt. Most times you want take care of your (loyal) ppl.

bubble team that won their 1st rnd game and took a 2 seed into OT.

its going to be interesting to see him not playing the 3 and just playing the 4 or 5, last season they didn't need Nunge has they had these
6'9 Cook Leading scorer and rebounder
6'11 Garza 2nd leading scorer and rebounder
6'9 Kriener to back up Garza and Cook
6'7 Baer who played the 3 and 4
as the front court players
this season they will have these
7' Nunge to replace Cook
6'11 Garza
6'8 Pemsl to replace Baer
6'9 Kriener
for front court players with Pemsl and Nunge having starts. hmm replacing a starter with a starter and replacing a backup with a starter. that's a good start, Nunge is a better defensive player than Cook and is a better ball handler as Cook had 92 TO's as a JR and that is something that Iowa won't miss.

nobody had more than 60 TO's

Nunge also isn’t half the offensive player Cook was.

you mean Athletic not offensive as Cook was limited to a max of 10' and dunks, don't confuse the 2, again Nunge has range out past the Arc and shot about 10% better from the FTL. Nunge was also a better defensive player than Cook.

if Cook was as good as you make him out to be he would have been drafted, Nunge will be a RSSO this fall.

athletic ability can only take a person so far, now maybe in the NBA as a Undrafted FA Cook might put it all together, hoping that he does. Nunge is starting a new chapter in his career at a new position and responsebilities, it will be interesting to see how he adapts to his new role.

JFC...Nunge sucks, and there’s nothing that will change that
