Agree that he isn’t coming off in the best way, but to be fair, he watched the E60, and it’s clear he is much more up to date On the situation than you are. You should either watch the video or read the entire article before spouting off.
I did watch it. Saw the video. Read multiple articles. It certainly appears there was a cover-up. Not disagreeing with that--AT ALL. My point was, and still is, that it is easy for those not involved, with no affiliation or directly impacted, to say what they would've done. Or what should've been done.

I honestly did not think this would be that hard to understand.

I see what you are saying, I do. In the article Appling says he doesn't remember if he and Payne received punishment from the coaches. How in the flying fvck do you not remember during such a serious moment in your life? Bizarre.

But yes, the whole innocent until proven guilty is a tricky deal because you look at a guy like Reggie Lynch and he had several accusations against him and was allowed to keep playing. But if someone came out tomorrow and accused a Purdue player of sexual assault, I'd question it for sure, because like any biased fan I believe we have good kids, but I'd like for our athletic department to handle it properly, which is to report it to the proper authorities. MSU handled everything internally, which is fvcked up.
Agree with everything 100%. I'm not disputing if there was a cover-up; It seems highly likely there was. And IF there was, then those all directly involved not only need to be fired, but prosecuted. I have never once implied anything different.

My point---AGAIN, is that it is very easy for people who are not involved, to say what should've been done. It's easy to say so until it is you who becomes involved.

That is ALL I was saying.

Outside the Lines also has obtained never-before-publicized reports of sexual or violent incidents involving members of Izzo's storied basketball program, including one report made against a former undergraduate student-assistant coach who was allowed to continue coaching after he had been criminally charged for punching a female MSU student in the face at a bar in 2010. A few months later, after the Spartans qualified for the 2010 Final Four, the same assistant coach was accused of sexually assaulting a different female student.

Borden Im not better than you its just you are arguing something when its very clear you dont even know what youre arguing about.

I guarantee once you get all the info you will feel a little foolish and change your tune. Until then, we are done here - just like Izzo and Dantonio are about to be at Michigan State.
Jesus fcking Christ. I have the same God damn info YOU have. Why must you be so damn obtuse?

I'm not defending Izzo. I am not saying him deciding to play Appling/Payne was right. I said----It is easy for US to say what we would've done. It's always easier to coach from home, then it is on the floor. In other words, you have no idea WTF you would do, until you are put in that position.

THAT was my entire POINT.

But noooooooooooo....You have to go all bonkers. Instead of simply trying to at least understand WTF i was talking about.

The judge said he could travel with the team and ultimately dismissed the charges. He was fired following the sexual assault accusations. What was wrong with how Izzo handled that?

The artcile says there were 2 players that were involved in the gang rape with Walton. What about them?

Ok, maybe I interpreted your posts wrong, but it seemed like you were saying that video of Payne wasn’t from the initial investigation. The fact that that video existed and somehow no charges were brought up seems super shady.

I understand what youre saying. I just disagree. Izzo most certainly should have dismissed Appling from the team. Unless you think he both

1- did not hear from investigators what happened
2 - that Payne told him something different than he told investigators.

I am not trying to argue with you

Not at all.

This plausible.

In hindsight, of course Appling should have been dismissed.

I do not thiunk this bolds well for Izzo. Highly unlikely he's the HC very much longer.

Izzo will absolutely end up resigning at some point, that much Im sure of.

The backlash over this fresh off the #MeToo hasnt even began to approach fever pitch.

Dantonio is for sure toast.

One more year ?
at least remember this team just graduated 4 seniors off that 16-17 team making them the youngest team in the BT and 15th youngest team out of 351 DI teams,. with Iowa being the 2nd youngest in the BT and 16th out of 351 DI teams.

Provided Happ returns, Wisconsin is probably a tournament team next season.

Davison gets to use both shoulders and Trice and King return to full health.

Ruevers gets a full offseason to develop. Iverson returns as well.

Interesting takes on the MSU mess. Also, let’s not forget that NCAA president Mark Emmert was alerted to the many Michigan State sexual assault reports way back in 2010 by a documented letter from Kathy Redmond, the founder of the National Coalition Against Violent Athletes. That’s 8 years ago. He did nothing. So how can the NCAA even investigate this with any integrity?

the NCAA HAS NO INTEGRITY.

this will need the FBI to step in to clean up these messes because the NCAA DOES NOT HAVE THE GUTS TO DO ANYTHING about their cash cow.

The FS1 broadcast team said Michigan State was wearing special laces tonight.

What a crock of $h!t. Where were the laces the last 100 games?

Oh, that's right ESPN exposed Adreian Payne earlier today.

Terrible interview by Izzo . Rape is not part of life , why you still visiting Appling recently in jail. Sorry not buying this.

He sounds like a guy who just got caught cheating on his wife. Only sorry because it’s out
Bruce Feldman is on crack. Izzo may not be, but he came off looking guilty as sht.

I'm not advocating for Izzo to be gone. Although he is trending near Art Briles territory.

I will say this though. Do you think the NCAA wants a situation where Michigan State is on stage with confetti on their heads the first Monday in April?

I would not be surprised if the directive is handed down during the tournament. Make sure nearly every 50/50 call goes against them. We don't want this scene on our hands.

It is unfair to the current team, but college sports have never been fair.

He sounded obviously down and and exhausted, but what made him guilty?
Didn’t deny anything, minimal eye contact, guilty facial expressions, etc. Like I said, maybe he isn’t guilty of helping MSU turn into RCU, but this was a bad interview.
