*Official* 2017-2018 B1G In-Season Thread

I remember back before MSU hired Dantonio, Izzo gave an interview where he was actually involved in finding candidates to take the MSU Football job.

And that was years ago. So hes certainly very connected to the whole athletics department.

Damn, this is really shitty. I just don’t get why other sports are getting attacked when this was clearly about the people upstairs not handling things the right way. That’s what this Nassar issue is about, but no let’s make the basketball coach and football coach resign as well.
Just give us a big fine already.

Alright bub, you are split hairs here

This is such BS. Fire all the administrators and people upstairs that handled things badly, but what does Izzo and Dantonio have to do with any of this. Players have had issues, like literally every other school. Dantonio handled the thing last year the right way, didn’t let any of them back on the team. All the people were kicked off. The Izzo attack is even worse. Like what? I honestly am so confused with these attacks. Izzo is the basketball coach. Why is Nassar leading to all these attacks on every other sport.

FYI, I’m glad the pres and AD did resign. Nassar deserves to burn in hell
If these coaches knowingly mishandled or covered up any of this, they deserve to be fired. It's not just about Nassar.

Programs have to be held accountable for the actions of their athletes and coaches.

Has it ever occured to you MSU slappies that maybe instead of blindly supporting the MSU athletics cult leaders in the face of all these reports of multiple sexual assault coverups throughout years and years- that maybe you should just shut the **** up instead?

Maybe you should pump the brakes a bit

Im watching the outside the lines right now. They just showed a video of police questioning Adrien Payne.

He admits a girl said she was done and wanted to stop and Keith Appling kept going because "he wanted to ejaculate or whatever."

If this was covered up Izzo is most certainly done youd have to think.

If they did in fact cover some of this stuff up, or kind of just laid back and didn't do anything, then they absolutely do deserve to be fired. I remember the Payne/Appling thing back in like 2010 and nothing ever came from that. Appling's in prison now so it's not exactly like he's some outstanding citizen that would never do such a thing. I don't know what's true/what's not true but you can't defend these guys until due process has run its course. Just like I can't accuse them of stuff I do not in fact know.

I think people are only defending Izzo because of these wild assumptions and accusations that are flying around. People getting enjoyment out of mocking MSU and the entire "I told you so" stuff is ridiculous. I believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt until we learn more. Obviously him covering this up should and will result in his termination.

I am 100% genuine. I am not trolling at all in what Im about to say.

Im less than 20 mins into this live Outside The Lines and I would be absolutely shocked if Izzo is still employed this time next month and they havent even got to the football portion of this.

MSU athletics have apparently been covering up sexual assaults and violence from football and basketball athletes for years.

Unless I misunderstood the article, a woman claimed she was raped by Payne and Appling and Izzo let them play the entire season.

If there was a coverup, I agree - heads need to roll. But I'm not sure of what Izzo covered up. The Payne/Appling thing was well publicized, with the local law enforcement getting involved and ultimately determining there wasn't enough evidence to move forward.

This is the first I've heard of the Travis Walton stuff, but according to that espn article - he was immediately fired (as he had already graduated and was working for the team)

See, that is a key word: Claimed. I mean what do you do if one of your players is accused of this? Suspend them? I mean if your child was accused of rape, would you put them in jail?

I'm not condoning anything. Certainly not that of covering up a crime as heinous as rape. BUT......It is easy for you or I to say what should be done. Or what we would've done. Opposed to actually having to make that decision.

How can Izzo possibly coach tonight? This is very bad. Doesn't matter if he's guilty or not, it's a major distraction for everyone. I have a feeling the protesting will be ugly inside the arena as well.

Borden, 16 different football players(again thats just football players) have been accused of rape at MSU according to this report.

So either theres a massive conspiracy with multiple fake victims or MSU is covering this up.

Seriously, use common sense here. Izzo and Dantonio and basically everyone involved in MSU athletics have to go at this point.

Read the article. Payne, as dumb as he is, pretty much admits to doing it.

What does Izzo have to with football?

Borden turn on ESPN. I dont have the energy to explain this.

The cliffnotes are that MSU set up a system to handle sexual assault claims in house and multiple football and basketball athletes apparently skated because of these coverups.

MSU has unsuccessfully gone to court 3 different times for the right to conceal names of athletes accused.

Ok. But did he do this THEN? When the report came out? I do not think he did. MOF, there were never any charges filed. Again, it is easy for you, me and others to say---"well this should've happened. Or that". But it much diferent when you actually have to make the decision. NOW---What if this were a Purdue kid(s)? I'd say your view would probably be that of mine. As a society we always know what we would do, or what should be done. That is, until it directly effects us. We then find out, that making that decision isn't as easy as we thought.

Explain what? I know what is going on NOW, and what is being alleged. I don't need that exaplined, dude.

I'm saying for those up in arms ovcer Izzo letting Payne and Appling play are being silly. They were accused of a crime.......THEN. Not convicted. Should he have let them play? IDK. But I see no reason not to. If they were allowed to remain a student, then why shouldn't the be allowed to reamin a part of the team.

My statements have nothing to do with the current allegations. They are solely toward letting Appling and Payne play.

Jesus. I didn't think that would be this hard for some to understand.

Borden, do yourself a favor and quit posting until you have a clue what is actually going on here.

Payne ADMITTED that Appling raped a girl who told him ahe was done and Appling kept going so he could "ejaculate or whatever."

Thwy were allowed to remain students and athletes because MSU handled the claims in house like the OTL reports claim. They set up a system to handle all athlete sexual assault claims in house.

Dude quit being so God damn arrogant. I mean really?

Now---Did Payne ADMIT this when the allegations fisrt came to light?

NO. He did not. He is just now making these comments.

I now WTF is going on. But it is IRRELEVANT to what I am saying.

Jesus.

You are so clueless. This was a video released WHEN the police FIRST interviewed Payne.

You dont even have a clue what youre talking about and just making shit up.

You cannot possibly be this god damn stupid.

I am talking about......AT THE TIME of the INITIAL allegations. Not today. Not what we know today. BUT what was known THEN.

Of course it's easy to say it was wrong of Izzo to let them play,NOW. If what is being alleged is true; And it seems to be. But that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about when it FIRST came to light.

Jesus.

Dude go fcvk yourself. I cannot help it your reading abilities suck.

I'm not defending Izzo. Or MSU. But to say these kids shouldn't have played THEN, is being a bit premature. Of course it is easy to say so NOW.

God damn you can be stupid, at times.

Borden, Im going to repeat this for the 100th time.

Adrien Payne ADMITTED Keith Appling raped a girl who claimed Appling raped her. There is a video of this when MSU investigators questioned him.

Yes, Appling absolutely should never have played another game ever again and should have been booted from the university immediately.

So Payne said Appling raped this young lady, at the time of the allegation? The police /MSU investigators have this on video? Yet the State/grand jury said there wasn't enough evidence to file charges.

Weird.

So I guess MSU got the tape, and deleted it?

Borden Im not better than you its just you are arguing something when its very clear you dont even know what youre arguing about.

I guarantee once you get all the info you will feel a little foolish and change your tune. Until then, we are done here - just like Izzo and Dantonio are about to be at Michigan State.

Don't know how to link to twitter but Zach Berridge from WILX just posted Dantonio will be addressing the crowd at the Breslin Center momentarily.

this is not going to end well for MSU. they are not at the same level of Stripper/Hooker/Money UL, nor are they on the same level of UNCheats.

MSU is at the level where they will be made a example of right or wrong of the powers that be.

I see what you are saying, I do. In the article Appling says he doesn't remember if he and Payne received punishment from the coaches. How in the flying fvck do you not remember during such a serious moment in your life? Bizarre.

But yes, the whole innocent until proven guilty is a tricky deal because you look at a guy like Reggie Lynch and he had several accusations against him and was allowed to keep playing. But if someone came out tomorrow and accused a Purdue player of sexual assault, I'd question it for sure, because like any biased fan I believe we have good kids, but I'd like for our athletic department to handle it properly, which is to report it to the proper authorities. MSU handled everything internally, which is fvcked up.
