*Official* 2017-2018 B1G In-Season Thread

If there's anything positive us Buckeye fans can take from this game is that KDB is the real deal. Not only does he want the ball in crunch time but the dude is extremely clutch. Very good sign when we get into close games come tourney time

Not a bad loss at all for OSU and well deserved win for PSU. KBD could have a huge tourney I’m hoping.

OSU has four top 75 recruits in the starting lineup. It’s not a lack of talent. It’s that it underachieved under Matta.

Cmon man. I get your point but We had 6 scholarship players when Holtman took over. And let’s not act like those 4 players are duke guys or something. Kbd has been great and Tate has been solid but that’s it. And yes, it was time for Thad to go

Friday matchups will be some of the worst in conference history.

Saturday tho will have the feel of a NCAA round of 32 pod.

And Michigan will pretty much have home court in nyc, it’s the reason why I liked the move to nyc

I'm not saying you aren't lacking depth, but Williams and Wesson were both top 75 recruits too. Holtmann has done a phenomonal job but it's not like the cupboard was completely bare.

Williams was a three star who redshirted... So to your original point they have three top 75 guys. Jackson was a JUCO

But I agree on your premise

It isn't that they don't have talent just not much depth.

Edit:. He's listed as top 75 but he definitely redshirted

Would please stop with leaving the "w" out?

Something is off when one game makes that much of a difference 20+ games into the season. Don’t get me wrong, I like Kenpom since his ratings are always better for Purdue than the RPI, but it seems odd.
Rutgers AdjD jumped up from 26 to 16 with a loss to Nebraska

MSU AD Mark Hollis is resigning today. Wow.

Thoughts? @MileHighSpartan @SpartanJD

It needed to happen regardless of his responsibility. He was the AD. Nobody was surviving that and he’s doing it gracefully. Says he’ll be cooperating in full with any investigations.

I do see Hollis as one of the “good guys” but down below in the AD, he missed a big, big scandal and a heinous one at that. It was just time to take a step down. Props to Hollis for doing what is right and not giving a half hearted statement like LAKS.

B1G tourney will come down to 4 teams. Fairly large drop off after Michigan
I wouldn't completely rule out Nebraska or Northwestern yet. Besides Michigan, they both gave Purdue a tough game at Mackey. In fact NW may have led with a minute to go if my memory serves me right. They just need to get their act together. They have good personnel.

When something like that happens the people in charge need to be held responsible. Hollis stepped down without having to practically be dragged out unlike the President, who ended up getting a lifetime benefits package btw. Let's hope the people who enabled Nassar also face charges and hope steps are taken at MSU and all schools really that something like this never occurs again.

That NW team that almost won at Purdue is a very different team than the one you’re seeing now.

I don't remember watching a Purdue game that was that fun. Hats off to UM for a great game, and a game they certainly could have won with no complaint from me.

I'm not totally disagreeing with you, but I'm glad my team is at the level where a 12-point victory with a double-digit lead throughout the second half is considered a "tough game."

Yep, There is still a long way yet to go in the B1G regular season and B1G tournament. Nebraska and Michigan are both improving big time. I know PSU won’t hit everything they throw up like they did to beat OSU, but they still looked very solid and improved last night. B1G regular season and B1G tourney may be a lot more interesting than many might think.

Sometimes it’s better to eat the cost of a contract and it’s benefits than get tied up in court in an ugly lawsuit. It’s why parties settle.

I think it’s best MSU and LAKS part ways and let any investigation go on as needed. MSU having to pay LAKS seems like small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. I actually don’t even know why it’s relevant.

These officials are terrible. Osu getting hosed at home. There have been some terrible calls both ways but psu in the bonus 5 minutes in the 2nd half lol

I would just say that other than PSU hitting everything, Once again OSU started horribly and once again they were losing early by 10 or more. That has happened several games and Coach Holtman is still trying to solve that issue. Hope they do. That’s also why IMO they lost last night.

MSU is burning and I'm loving every second of it.

Now you see why us Purdue fans despise MSU so much.

Not because of the amount of success they've had, not because Izzo is in the limelight and is revered by the media and recruits alike for being a great coach, but because of the fact they tricked everyone with their "family atmosphere" bullshit all while wading in an environment that enabled deplorable behavior from their student athletes. They simply don't do it the right way, but they tricked a lot of people for a lot of years and it's finally coming undone. About damn time. I don't know how many Purdue fans have been made fun of for bringing up the Appling/Payne stuff and MSU fans just swept it under the rug. Yeah. No. This shit is real.

They deserve everything they have coming to them.

Anyone think Izzo survives? He and Dantonio have been promoting a rape culture for years. Do all the MSU fans think it’s still sour grapes?
