***NBA Playoffs: Finals Thread***

It was a block, and I get the argument about why it shouldn't have even been reviewed, but it was the right call in the end. NBA replay is a hot mess, though. There were worse calls, like the one on Hill in the first minute of OT against Durant, but those weren't egregious.

The whole Thompson thing was a mess. Thompson's stunt is the type of crap that has no place in the game; it's similar to beaning a hitter for trotting. I've generally defended Draymond in the past, but he's a just a punk ass bitch. I applaud Kerr for his take on the BS machismo crap like what Thompson pulled, but have a talk with your instigator.
I really couldn't tell whether block or charge. Javie said charge correct, I thought. Looked like Lebron's left foot did not move. could say he spun into him a little, but also looked like he might have braced himself.

In addition, looked like maybe Durant initiated the contact.

I thought could have gone either way and call on court should have stood, no matter which way it went.....like pretty much every other foul call I've ever seen.

Make excuses all you want. He had little ass steph on him. He passed into traffic instead of taking a 6 foot 3 180 pound guard off the dribble. He was a beast till the shit got real.
So never mind he has more gamewinning shots in the playoffs than MJ? didn't MJ pass off to a teammate for a shot in the Finals or did I just dream that?

Guess it got too real for him.

You are allowed to change the call once you determine the defender wasn’t in the restricted circle, which James wasn’t. But it was clear to me that LeBron was not even close to being in the right position, which is why it was overturned. What is the point of having replay if we don’t want to get the call right? As bogus as it is to change a critical call like that I the finals, I have to think it was the right move.
Great....so why not get it right when they called Hill for slapping early in OT when it was a clear steal?

You want them looking at every foul call on replay, or only when it hurts the Cavs and Lebron?

What? I'd take Pippen and Rodman over Wade and Bosh 10/10. Pippen was a lockdown defender and Rodman was one of the most talented rebounders of all time. Then add a sniper ala BJ Armstrong or Steve Kerr on the wing. Maybe I'm older than you, but Pippen would have been THE man on any Jordan-less team.

Lebron has never been surrounded with that kind of talent, which is why he doesn't have nearly the trophy case.

And they did win 55 without MJ after he left.

Laughing thanks for letting me know I have one. I wasn't aware prior to this.
Are you unaware of your previous comments? Thinking you must be right and an actual NBA ref is off base kind of speaks to my theory, right?

Correction - he has more game winning shots than MJ and Kobe combined. The poster you quoted said that Lebron seems to disappear late in games though. lol

So I’m the only one who thought it was a block? Interesting
No, what was interesting was that you said it was "Clearly" a block. It wasn't clear, and could have easily gone either way, but it should not have been overturned.

Don’t worry, LBJ is almost in the top 15 in this list.
MJ passed off on a set play. He didn’t stand at the top of the key looking scared & passed into traffic at the last minute
So MJ sat in a huddle and let the coach call a set play for a game-winner that wasn't for him? If Lebron did that you'd say he was scared.

A lot of opinion in that criteria. Lebron has been better on playoff gamewinners than MJ.

Oh, this is surely an objective and awesome list with criteria like:
  • "Does the player have a nickname that references how clutch he was in his career?"
  • "Do any of the shots go by a certain phrase?"
  • "Just based on reputation, who would you trust taking a game-winning shot?"
Surprised it didn't mention the word "balls" or reference "looking scared." Please, keep this drivel coming. It's a slow Friday at work.

Ok. And that bothered you? I think it was the right call. They showed replays.
does it bother me? No, but that's not the same as simply saying "he was moving".

And, yes, it seems like most who say it was definitely a block are those with an anti Cavs' or Lebron agenda.

How about more clutch shots with an itch on his back he couldn't reach?

As passionate of a fan as he’s proven to be, he should be pissed off, as far as the game. His Cavs had a chance to steal one on the road.
I know I'm irritated. Went into the game not giving them a great chance, but when it got to the point they could actually win it was disheartening to see them lose how they did.

Yep. Much easier to lose by 20 than that BS.
Truth be told if I had to choose, I'd rather after they fell behind by 7 it just stay in the 5-10 range the rest of the game. wouldn't really have gotten my hopes up, and also would have still looked like they could compete (which they do...making the loss more annoying).
