From what I saw vs Duke, he is really going to help you guys. You guys needed a shooter that game. He has a smooth shot.

Is it on one of the ESPN's? My guide has a game but it TBA

Yeah..he’ll be an important piece. I wish the freshman McBride hadn’t bailed just before the start of the season. Dude was a 50% 3 pt shooter.

ESPNU.

And to be fair, Va Tech only hit two more threes than MSU- so it was close...

Yes. VT killed MSU on points off of turnovers. They had like 23 and MSU 5.

Very sloppy game for MSU but give VT credit they hit their 3s and free throws.

Izzo also needs to realize you can’t sit Winston for the last 9 minutes of the first half with 2 fouls. Just kills us having Loyer out there.

Point is I have watched WVU.
All I said after the Pitt game was that Pitt isn't any good. Pitt would go 0-18 in the Big 12 in basketball.
Plus I said I saw issues with penetration.

Watch our for Northern Iowa. They are even better than Northern Colorado at what they do.
Lol, tell us more about Pitt getting ran by the Big XII..
Pitt has improved tremendously.
.. still might not win very many ACC games, tho.

Big XII is down this season as well.

Vtech coach looks like Bill from King of the Hill, with slightly more hair.
... I mean, if Bill wore a hair piece.
(King of the Hill Bill, of course)

Bill had the perimeter lined up. Just didn’t have any sod on the runway.

I happened to look to see if DukeDevilz was right and say you were last. When I posted early SOS about 10 days ago, you were about 315 or so.

It was 353 at the start of the day. It's a very fluid situation. Right now, it says 347, which is kind of surprising given the games against MSU and Clemson. Obviously SOS isn't the most meaningful right now because of the small sample size.

I'll give Va Tech credit. They looked way better than I was anticipating. 2 of their top 5 guys in minutes are freshmen that weren't even in the top 400 in the c/o 2019 (Alleyne and Cattoor). That blows my mind. Gotta like Virgina Tech's future. They have some promising players coming in next year. And then there's the fact that their coach, Mike Young, actually grew up as a Hokie fan. Buzz Williams was never going to stick around in Blacksburg long. Young, on the flip-side, is likely to retire at VT.

I think I saw you mention that BYU is missing their best player. Can they hang with KU?

Bill Walton and Dave Pasch were raving about UCLA's new and improved look early in the first half. They both agreed that there was a defensive intensity about UCLA in their practices that they hadn't seen at all last year. Their defense in one word: TERRIBLE. They looked bad. Really bad. Looks like an NIT team to me.

I don't want to completely dismiss them. Because I thought Michigan State would be able to pound the ball inside against Virginia Tech. That didn't happen. UCLA had a huge size advantage last night. They didn't utilize their strengths either. Obviously Kansas is much better than UCLA. I think they just need to go inside, early and often. BYU has exactly one big right now. The only other guys that can reasonably play upfront for them are two guys that are 6'7 215. So yeah, just give it to Doke, McCormack, and De Sousa and you guys should be fine. Foul them out.

I do like BYU's guards, though. Toolson is crafty. Plays under control, can shoot, and post-up. I think Garrett would be the ideal guy to lock him down. ESPN Matchup predictor gives KU a 66% chance, which actually seems modest to me. I'd feel comfortable in saying KU wins by 10-15 points.

Ehh not sure thats it. He's not that kind of kid from most reports. Married with 1 daughter, and another kid on the way.

Never thought about him leaving early, but do you expect him to stick around for another year? A lot harder to stay when you have a family to support, I would imagine.

Some MSU people think he's gone this year if he is expected to be drafted, just so he can start supporting his family. Not sure he's said anything of the sort himself though. Prob just message board chatter. Unless he really picks up his play, probably not realistic anyway.

He’s not big enough to bang in the post in the NBA and doesn’t have the perimeter skills for a stretch 4. He’s a tweener and I don’t see him as a first rounder.

man was he bad yesterday

Seems like a reasonable assessment. If he's not likely to play in the NBA, however, I'd think it would be tempting to play in Europe and start cashing in on a 6-figure salary. One more additional year wouldn't add value to his stock.

I think the situation would be much different if he were a single guy, but being married certainly adds pressure to providing. Just curious on what the general thoughts were from the MSU fanbase. Not saying he should leave, rather that I think it would be very tempting - even if the NBA isn't realistic.

Bilas called out Winston’s push offs? I didn’t watch the game but how bad were they for him to call them out?

I have no idea where he’s at with his degree but you’d have to factor that in. Europe money is nice but it’s not life changing and 30 will be there for him before he knows it. I’d hope he gets a degree in something.

Love BYU, have for well over a decade.

They will not hang with Kansas.
Even with 28 TOs..
If Childs was playing, it'd be a much better game.

If Tilman can develop this year and next year if he comes back into a Draymond green type player he has a good shot in the NBa but easier said than done. Green has soft hands and Tilman has had clement hands to start this year.
