I’m personally shocked. Juwan Howard has always seemed like such a mature and level-headed man

We aren’t taking BCG or Doherty here. Hubert is one of the most stand up guys out there and has always represented Carolina with dignity and class

I don’t know that Michigan will actually fire him. But they damn well should. You simply can’t have one of the top 2-3 highest paid employees at your school striking a peer while doing his job and representing the university.
And on top of that, it’s not the first incident. You keep him as head coach and one day you end up with him choking out a player who disrespects him in practice. You can’t have that kind of risk.
If an icon like Woody Hayes could be fired for this, then certainly someone like Howard could and should be.

well, when I am dealing with someone I neither like nor respect and who I think is unstable, I tend not to talk to them at all and certainly don’t ask them for help.

Everyone supports Hubert. I support him. I want him to do well. Just because I point out that it was a terrible hire IMO and discuss where he seems not ready doesn’t mean I don’t wish for success. Don’t be so sensitive. Support and confidence aren’t the same thing, though really supporting a coach is pretty irrelevant. None of us really matter in that regard.

Michigan was still playing hard and employing a full-court press defense. Wisconsin’s inexperienced players struggled to advance the ball up the floor and turned it over, leading to a Michigan layup.
With 15 seconds to go, Gard called another timeout to make sure the players on the floor could break the press and advance the ball past half-court. No matter the reasoning, that timeout seemed to irk Howard.
He felt the need to defend himself from Gard so he hit Wisconsin Asst Coach Joe Krabbenhoft in the face?
