Duke cancelling away games already

Seems like we get scrutinized more than any other team. According to this article, 114 schools have had COVID pauses during the season. That's close to one-third of the country. I suppose some people are more cynical because they think K is trying to duck out of two road games. It goes with the narrative that Duke doesn't play road games.

Like someone already said, other teams also were accused of the same thing here so maybe people are also cynical of those teams as well. You guys get scrutinized on a message board and by fans but you also get a pass from the media because of K.

Also, Duke not playing road games is well earned. I think K has even talked about why he values neutral site games over them so it isn't like it is a conspiracy theory or anything. It is more of a tactical thing we have fun with.

Regardless, I assume everyone here (outside of Phil) took the shots at Duke for what they were, lol

Wait. You think the vaccine keeps people from getting covid? And do you think there is a single player for Duke that is not vaccinated?
Kentucky is doing just fine with vaccines.. so am I... It won't prevent it, but it does make it much less of a problem lol science is a virtue

There could easily be players for Duke not vaccinated. There are players at other programs that are not so not sure why Duke (or anywhere else) would be that different. It isn't like we will ever know who from each program is sick or vaccinated or whatever unless coaches share it anyway.

"The entire Duke roster and staff is vaccinated against the virus in accordance with university
policies."

It works great for some though. Kutos for Kentucky, I guess. So far.

Ah, didn't realize they had to be there. Not sure which schools do and not require it.

Well, the point is that anyone who claims that vaccines are preventing people from getting the virus is insanely naive. Saying that it does because of personal experience is like someone saying that covid isn't real because they don't know anyone who has had it. I know plenty of people who are not vaccinated and never had it. That's fun, right.

To be clear Cory, this isn't really directed at you. But the smartass who thinks that anecdotal evidence and personal experience means anything. It hasn't hit Kentucky players YET.

Try it you might like it... at least you will somewhat enlightened over what you are now lmao
Seriously? You are the one who made a completely unenlightened assertion. I assume you were being a smartass, not actually serious about the vaccine talk.

Yeah, people who think they are worthless and people who think they keep you completely protected are all the same to me. But people can think what they want IMO. Just don't be silly about it.

Fair enough.

Just takes a little bit of research to not look like a fool. But you choose not to. Fool.

Eh, seems a lot easier to just have some clown here let me know.

He does a great job fvcking with people

Such a boss. Anyone else passes out, they fall right over.

But this bad-ass West-Point-trained leader of men? Nope. Calmly lies down and waits for the unconsciousness to pass.

Of course you don’t know for sure. When shitty threads explode. Happening all over college athletics honey. Even with AFAM U. Not just Duke.
Na man uk fans decided that canceling games bc of covid (well this year at least lmao) is not really covid, its vaginitis

I could be wrong, but I think all Duke students are required to be vaccinated.

Gotta say, on a personal note, shit is a MESS up here in NJ, where cases are up like 400% in two weeks. In my class of 19 I have five kids out; in my partners class, there are six kids out. Two of them were in yesterday looking just exhausted... overnight we got the "out for two weeks" email. I had three go out the week before Christmas, including one who came to school and just put his head on his desk because he was feeling so crummy. We are sitting here with the windows open and no heat when it is 19 degrees outside, just hoping that everyone gets omicron instead of Delta, since it seems a little less serious. A third of the staff is sick, and gym and art teacher and other special teachers are covering classes.

Thankfully some experts are thinking this will start to be over in February, given that everyone is going to be getting it. Just really hoping my mom is okay, when she DOES get it... 81 and a cancer survivor. And not looking forward to having to take two weeks off of work myself, when I get it.

Boo.

Go get your booster, if you haven't already... omicron kicks through the base vaccines with some effectiveness, but the booster increases effectiveness by like 50 times. Ten minutes, a quick jab, and you are doing your best to keep you and yours safe, and not overwhelming the hospitals so that other people can get help and our health care workers aren't overwhelmed.

Yay, modern medicine and science, and not living in the stone age!

I will bet you any kind of message board bet that U of L will not reschedule us this year. Cal is taking on teams at the drop of a hat if someone cancels. Your coach will do everything in his power to not take another L from Kentucky.

Calipari also said he's going to start at #1 and go down from there. It would be a while before getting to UL.

Gotta be honest, if any combination of UK's starting 5 is out with covid, I'd rather not play true road games.
Something tells me the selection committee won't care as much as they should when looking at the losses you sustained while guys were out and you can go on a heck of a losing streak while covid is running rampant through your program.

I just got back from my doctor and he said everyone will definitely be getting it eventually.

Yeah. They've said this from the beginning. Just like the rhinovirus.

I got covid OG antibodies and the vax. I will still probably get it again.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if everyone doesn't get it at this point... they are saying Omicron is the most transmissible virus in history. Thank god it seems to be a little more focused on upper respiratory stuff than lungs... the lung stuff was the killer for a lot of people. Between the somewhat less dangerous nature of it, having more effective treatments, and the wide-spread availability of vaccines and boosters, and the efficacy of both (especially boosters) I can't help but think that, if you really want to stay relatively healthy, as long as you don't have any other *major* health issues than you should be able to. And once everyone has gotten it, then hopefully it will just become a common yearly flu sort of thing.

BTW, proud of you for finally getting that whole impotency thing addressed. It takes a big man to admit when he has a dong problem.

I thought that the SEC rule was you play games if you have 7 healthy scholy players and one coach.

America needs to get in shape.

There is not enough focus on appropriate exercise and diet.

I am not fat shaming the fatties.
It has been hilarious how everyone has suddenly become a health expert in the past two years. No one cared about taking care of themselves, exercising, or eating healthy until covid could mess you up for being overweight. America has had an obesity problem for years now, maybe everyone caught up in this pandemic will finally start to realize they've been unhealthy long before covid.

Oh it was brought up before how pandemics effect the overweight and unhealthy the most. Bill Burr was on it. Lol

I was at New Year's Eve party, everyone that was there now has covid including my wife who is vaccinated and ****ing boosted of all things. I'm not vaccinated and I'm fine, it's weird. Pretty sure I'm immune, I've never gotten it and I've been around it so many times.

We skipped a holiday party on like Dec 19, at which EVERYONE got covid, and then a basketball practice for my son on like Dec 23, at which EVERYONE got covid. If we had done either, we would have had to skip Christmas with my mom. Real thankful for that.

And are you sure you haven't had it? Plenty of people have it and don't have symptoms... have you done, like, an antibody test? You could be one of the lucky ones to get it and not have any symptoms?

It's hard to eat right, for some. A little more prep required, maybe a little more expensive, might not taste as good. Leftovers may not hold blah blah. If a person lives alone, too much, yeah.

But we can all go for a walk or a jog.

And sometimes ice cream just tastes better when I am in my pajamas. That crack in the ceiling ain't going anywhere billy joe. Toasters work better when they're plugged in.
