Duke cancelling away games already

I'm so ****ing sick of covid and the over protective responses. Don't be fat or old but if you are get the vaccine, otherwise stfu and quit testing for almighty omicron which is basically a cold.
I can prevent the fat part, but damn I can't do anything about the old lol. I agree about the omicron.

And those that haven't got vaccine, f'em lol.

Someone mentioned this on another board and it seems reasonable. If you have to cancel a game because of Covid issues in your program and you can't make the game up but have a return game later in the year then the later game switches venues. So if VT can't reschedule then later in the year they have to come to Chapel Hill and lose their home game.

I will bet any amount of money that U of L will not reschedule with us this year.

Coach K and Duke really need to get their stuff together. Either admit you're lacking, or just a wanker who don't want to play.

I really think K wants as few games as possible now. Win or lose it will drag down their stats. Win SOS goes down, well lose and Duke might only move up 1 spot.

They asked Cal about playing IU as a replacement. Don't think that would happen this year. He mentioned IU backed out twice. Plus he's not ready to do a home and home lol.
Just going by what Cal said---"If games get cancelled, we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere...."

WOuld have been interesting....Loved for Woody or Dolson to have reached out----"Hey, Cal----we're open, baby...."

BTW---Not getting into the "IU backed out twice."---Just a dumb conversation. Both schools, AD's and coaches dropped the ball. IU offered a 4 year, 2 neutral sites, home/home----UK said no. And that's their right. Time to move on.

I just quoted Cal on that one. It was the Champions Classic and CBS Classic. Not the games that neither would agree to. You start showing a pulse and it will happen. IU is starting to get it right this year.

He hasn't won the regular season much lately so probably is going for it big time this year.

Just have to point out, Duke has won the ACC two of the last four years (not counting the shortened year) and 12 out of the last 22, which is pretty good, considering how strong the ACC has generally been. I suspect that K is "going for it" roughly the same amount this year as any other year... he is a pretty dedicated guy.

Not the regular season, which was the entire point of what I posted. So your response made zero sense in relation to what was actually posted.

For your information, the ACCT hasn't started quite yet.

Acc champ wins the tourney. Only people who bring up regular season are the losers who K has whooped for 40 years.

Why are the Duke fans embarrassing themselves here at the hands of a tar heel? Jesus, people. He specifically said that K hasn't won the regular season much lately. He didn't say anything about a regular season championship or even acc championships for that matter. Winning the regular season may mot be the top prize in the acc, but it should be every team's goal every year. The only reason why us Duke fans like to downplay it, is because Duke has failed miserably at it over the past good many years.

You and I both know there is no regular season ACC winner, given that the schedule is imbalanced; the winner of the ACC is the winner of the tournament.

;)

Again, it makes zero sense to discuss what you are discussing in relation to my post. Just ignore it.

If you want to discuss K dominating the ACCT do it when it is relevant. I've always given him props for that. The ACCT is also imbalanced btw. Not sure why that is such a difficult concept for people to grasp but it makes it a really dumb talking point. Regardless, that isn't the point.

Being this defensive is kind of a bad look. I mean, just look at the dude who is riding with you on this. That tells you all you need to know.

I have no idea who is riding with me, or what I am riding. I was just pointing out a slight error; I think you were saying K likely would be extra motivated because Duke hadn't been the regular season winner in a long time, but there is no regular season ACC winner... the only ACC winner is the tournament winner, and Duke has generally done fine with that.

That's all.

If you were actually trying to say that K would be extra motivated because Duke hadn't had the best regular season record in the ACC for a while... eh, that seems like a stretch? I can't imagine that a regular season win in one season or a regular season loss in another matters THAT much to a coach? But who knows? Could be?

This one never gets old! RollLaugh

Fun fact; you were the first person I ever saw use it and I associate it with you solely. Glad you’re back.

Hah! Yeah, I go back to that one a LOT. Between that expression being so perfect, and that I think Hemsworth is funny as hell... its a real reliable one, for me right up there with Jennifer Lawrence doing that "Okay" thing:)

And I am just doing work, or trying to avoid work, with my computer in front of me, and this place is great for avoiding work:)

Hope you and yours are good (and safe, after that damn tornado thing... wtf?!) and having a great holiday:)

It’s definitely the waste of time we’ve all been looking for. Really glad you’re participating again.

There is absolutely a regular season acc winner. Why are we saying there isn't? The SEC awards their regular season winner the conference championship. Does this mean that the SEC doesn't have a conference tournament winner?
