Dick Vitale Tweet

The defense alleged Oregon made cash offers to Bowen. Bowen Sr has not agreed or denied this claim. Just "I can't recall". The prosecution had not alleged this other than asking Bowen Sr the question.

Now Bowen Sr is a money hungry dude obvious from everything that has come out. Seems like a guy who would sell his soul for a fat wad of cash. NIKE probably did get in his ear since he can recall all the other offers specifically and not Oregon's offer if there was one.

He made the statement to the FBI. They showed him the FBI transcript.

It's only believable to Dakich coming from the b1g. ((Eyeball Olympics))

Gotta get those unprovoked UK jabs in at every opportunity. It's like you're on a timer. "Shit, it's been 10 minutes, better get on Rivals and flame UK some more." RollLaugh
On top of that, he's on multiple boards telling everyone how awful UK fans are where he lives.

Well DUH, if you walk around Kentucky spewing the crap he chucks up here on the daily, then you're going to see a really bad side of UK fans.

But no, it's everyone else that's F'd up. SMDH

That one was on Cal... Booker and Ulis were on the bench while Cal stuck with the twins who were not getting it done down the stretch and turning it over. He admitted to it.
Booker and Ulis were getting absolutely abused by Decker on defense and neither could score worth a damn.
Cal had the right guys in there, but they choked. They tried to play not to lose and it bit them. 3 straight shot clock violations is jaw dropping.
But Cal should have called a timeout at some point.

So that another way of saying that the players were good enough to win but the coaching wasn’t.... glad you agree with me.
No, in a 1 game scenario, it isn't unheard of for a coach to go with his gut and be wrong or make a mistake.
It happens all the time. Roy didn't cover Jenkins in '16 and in a scramble situation in '17, UK got burned. It happens.

A ton of talent? Literally Two of those guys are on NBA teams. Stop acting like the recruits UK have gotten & the recruits UNC have gotten are on the same level.
Cal’s Problem is he worries more about the NBA draft than he should. Kids like KAT, Wall, Cousins & Davis we’re sure fire O&D kids.
Kids like Goodwin, Young, Lamb, Teague should’ve returned. It’s pumped into their heads from the moment Cal sits on their couch when he’s recruiting them, guess it’s not “cool” to have kids return & play for 3/4 years.
Goodwin, Lamb, Young, Teague, Poythress, Washington, Richards, Orton, twins etc… were all told to go through the process after the season, get feedback from Pro guys then they were told to sit down wwit their families and make a decision. Some chose to return (Poythress, Lamb, Richards, twins and Washington), while others jumped.
But, look at the seasons where Cal had some guys return. It's title or final four. How many times has Roy not made the FF with a roster full of veterans?

That’s why I take experienced talent over inexperienced talent all day everyday. Imagine Wall, Cousins, Towns and other UK freshman in thier sophomore years? Very scary.
Yeah, but how do you tell a kid to turn down an NBA deal to come back and help the team? Izzo, K and Roy are able to pull that off and keep the kids happy, Cal has seen what could happen if a kid comes back and gets hurt or has a medical issue and can never play again (Wagner).

That's true but it's all about how a coach recruits. Some kids that aren't first round material get recruited over and that helps in high turnover every year. 99% of these kids want to play in the NBA and all the coaches know that so if they're guaranteed first round money they will tell them to declare.

This is true. I don't see the OAD method as the best way. I just see it as a way. Stock up with great talent, and hope it's strong enough to withstand against experience. I like it best when UK has a kid or two returning, surrounded by great freshman. I will say this; I have enjoyed Cal's experimentation with fewer titles than I ever did classes stacked with upperclass players. Not by much, but it holds a different edge of excitement.

It's been a fun ride.

^ great post.

Getting back on topic, it appears that Dick Vitale's big news was about Louisville. Maybe he's finally understanding that Pitino might have not been truthful with him. So his big news is our old news.

They’ve also been told that draft night is the best night for UK basketball & that going to UK will get them to the league fastest.
Don’t cry about the results your coach is selling. He’s made it where a kid is seen as a failure if he isn’t O&D.

What a letdown---i hope people hammer him on twitter so whatever 20 yr old can dictate the responses to him. Nothing new came out.

Okay, look at Shai Alexander. Kid was a 4*, went lottery because he put the work in and coaching paid off.
Calipari gets hammered for his coaching, but he gets these kids for 1 year. Now K is getting his kids for 1 year. Both coaches are getting nearly identical results. But one is thought of as the greatest ever, the other gets slammed.

That's a bunch of crap. Terrible post.
Calipari made a bad statement after the 2010 draft, but dolts like you act like he says that to every recruit he talks to. It's just not true.

Cal gets slammed for lack of results with the best talent. Self gets slammed for a bunch of shit. Comes with the territory of not winning titles when you should. Fair game.

One coach has 5 national titles himself, more than all but 2 NCAA programs.
Duh. How well has he faired with 0ne and done players?
Take a look at what Cal has done with veteran teams (2012 & 2015). Give Cal veteran teams and he's as good as anyone.

They did.. I thought CAL should have set them out a minute or so, just to get their minds right. CAL said something to the effect, I'm sticking with the twins, win or lose, he owed it to them. They were just pressing too hard.

Then have him build veteran teams bro. Every coach is trying to win with what they get and what they have.

That's true but Cal chooses to recruit that way.

Sig bet for anyone, I'll take my team against yours as to which one goes the furthest this year. Cal can't coach, then sign up......

Since 2010, Wright has never had a recruiting class finish inside the top 20 in 247Sports’ rankings. In 2013 his class finished 36th, in 2014 it was 48th, in 2015 it was 29th, in 2016 it was 45th and in 2017 it was 28th. With those classes, from 2013 through this season, Villanova has a record of 165-21 (.887). The Wildcats have won four Big East regular season titles, three Big East Tournament titles, three Final Four appearances and two national titles.

Pffff....Who needs Top 5 classes, OAD's, etc, etc...
