Are you saying ok for participating or "ok, carry on."
Btw, I see Michigan had 3 of the top 10 players in Win Shares last year. See, they do account for defense
Big Ten Win Share Leaders, 2018-19
1. Cassius Winston Michigan State 7.7
2. Jon Teske Michigan 5.7
3. Juwan Morgan Indiana 5.6
4. Xavier Tillman Michigan State 5.6
5. Carsen Edwards Purdue 5.6
6. Ethan Happ Wisconsin 5.5
7. Ignas Brazdeikis Michigan 5.5
8. Bruno Fernando Maryland 5.4
9. Zavier Simpson Michigan 5.3
10. Dererk Pardon Northwestern 5.1
All-American points would bump Edwards and Happ above Teske, Morgan, and Tillman. Seems reasonable to me.
Win shares is a terrible metric. The only things worse are defensive +/- and the RPI.It's not that. A couple years ago Moe Wagner was a average (at best) defender. Jaren Jackson was the conference defensive player of the year. Wagner had more defensive win shares than Jaren Jackson. I really don't get that.

If you end up needing someone to fill a spot...I'll do it. If you've already got your 10 that's cool also.

Sorry missed this. Do you still have any spots open?
Wagner logged 1,078 minutes compared to 764 minutes for Jackson. Not exactly comparable. Wagner picked up a Defensive WS every 414 minutes; Jackson picked up a Defensive WS every 347 minutes. If they played the same minutes, Jackson would almost certainly be ahead in that category. Most of the Win Shares are made up on the offensive end. The national leader in defensive Win Shares was Jarrett Culver at 3.5. Justin Wright-Foreman lead the nation in offensive win shares at 6.3. Very few players have a significant number in the defensive win share column.
Check out the national leaders for DWS. I know all of these guys were terrific defenders with the exception of Rafferty.

And still not sure, but are you a yes or no for the draft?
Open to adjusting the scoring system if others are on board. I like Win Shares because it's a nice medium for statistics. It's combining productivity with wins. It drives at who is most responsible for a team's win. Is it flawed? Sure. But, I'm not sure any fantasy league would be perfect when 353 teams don't all play in the same league. Competition is vastly different. I don't want to reward 20 point scorers on ho-hum teams. I also don't want to exclude players/conferences, because I think it's fun to have wild cards in there. We can certainly adjust the scoring if you have something in mind and others are okay with that.
can i join so i can kick all your asses again?
Can I change my username and then join. Just kidding. Are y’all gonna do the draft on the thread I’m just interested in who everyone picks. I don’t follow cbb as closely as I did in the good old days when u could make bets and play poker on the same website. Now I can’t even find an online bookie that will accept my credit card since I live in KY.

I'm not going to pretend that I understand win shares too well, but would minutes played have any bearing? JJJ couldn't stay on the court his one year at MSU.
Probably but at the end of the day Wagner was not a good defender while Jackson won Big Ten defensive player of the year. It’s weird to see a defensive stat that would suggest Wagner’s defend helped Michigan win more than JJ’s helped MSU.
His defensive impact metrics, the more advanced ones besides Defensive win shares, were absolutely off the charts.I'd be interested in seeing the minutes they both played. I think I remember JJJ getting less than 20 mpg, it was ridiculous the way Izzo would pull him as soon as he got a single foul and then leave him on the bench for the rest of the half.
It might be more weird that JJJ won DPOY given how few minutes he played.
