Cal can't even attempt to hide how butthurt he is by all of this. He has spazzy moments like this whenever he misses on an elite recruit or has a rough patch in season.

I will say it is smart tho. Cal knows his only trump card (no pun intended) is to go after Duke/K to divert attention away from losing two in a row, dropping from the top 25 and losing all of his top targets. He knows UK fans were calling for him to change or leave. This is his one last unifier.
We've been insisting that recruits only went to other schools because they are momma's boys and hoping that a rival coach gets old and loses it? Huh. I missed that, I suppose.
any UK fans that are asking for Cal to change or leave need to get a clue. They went from dumpster fire to the elite 8 Cal's first year, then what.. 4 or 5 final fours and a title in 10 years? They're not bringing anyone else in that can come close to that.
As for his comments... probably should have just shut up. it's not a good look for him and the fact that he's not selling UK at all would upset me if I was a Kentucky fan.
Anything with Kindly in it is usually good but that was the dumbest shit ever. I thought she was better than that.

Doesn't every coach speak to the media? I personally like it there's so many articles written and message board replies. I'd rather read about UK than anyone else.

I didn't realize something from that article.
However, it is worth noting that Kentucky and Duke have been to the same number of national championship games (two) in Calipari’s eight seasons at UK. Mike Krzyzewski won both, while Calipari only won one. But in the six non-title-game years for each program in that span, UK has been to four other Elite Eights and two other Final Fours; Duke to just one more Elite Eight and no more Final Fours.
You didn’t know that K had more titles than Cal since he’s been at UK? That’s a good stat for you to know.
smh. I didn't realize championships, although most important, is the only stat K leads Calipari in.

I saw that Cal backed off what he said. Why not just own up to it? Isn't he thought of as being a tough, tell-it-like-it-is sort of guy? Why throw that attack out there, and then deny he did it?

Meh, he got a reaction. However, how is that quote backing off? He says there are programs have beaten them with some guys recruiting. He's never wished ill will on anyone.
Sometimes, I think people like to put their own perception on everything he says.
Later in the interview he says.
"We wanted Trae Young, we lost him, we didn’t get him, but I said something positive, he texted me," Calipari said on his show. "That’s how this is. People can make more of anything than they want, but I don’t take this stuff personal."
It's all good though. Again, he got the reaction he wanted. He's a master at controlling what people are talking about.
Cal hasn’t been this owned since John Chaney.
Looks like the journalists at the Courier Journal are rattled too.
