Best and worst big ten fanbases

True but in all seriousness why use hyperbole by judging a whole fan base on like 3 fans?
I dont have any bad experiences with fans of B10 teams. Though if I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably say Indiana fans. In my experience when it comes to basketball, their fanbase seems a lot more knowledgeable as a whole.

Its weird....I mean, no UK fans were beat up, threatened, spit on, kidnapped, etc, etc...when John Wall and company came into IU, and won. ......But after a loss, well you guys were seemingly a bunch of Jews caught at a Hitler get together.

Looking for Purdue on the "Basketball programs who have accomplished something important in the last 30 years" list....couldn't find anything....even beyond is pretty bare....must be sad having to make an account with your rival’s name....that's when you know the program you root for stinks....

Cal offered to play in Indy every game going forward. Hard to pass that deal up for IU since it is their home state but IU wanted to be controlling and now I hope UK never plays them. It does nothing for UK and everything for IU. Kentucky needs to play teams better than IU. No use to lower their level to play an IU program that is desperate. IU hasn't been relevant in basketball in decades.

IU is a disaster. Would do nothing for UK to beat a bottom feeder in the Big 10.
Probably why UK walked away---Smart thing, really. Losing 2 of the past 3 to a bottom feeding team just isn't a good look. That Cal's a smart dude...
Michigan and Ohio State fans are typically the worst. They’re massive fanbases with bandwagon T-shirt fans that make the rest of the fanbase look bad. UM has more wine and cheese crowd with a large amount of white trash fans. Ohio State just has less wine and cheese crowd.
The next tier I’d put Purdue and Wisconsin for basketball. Purdue fans blow. Too many dudes. Awkward engineering type dudes and ugly chicks. Wisconsin fans seem like a toned down version of UM fans.
Coolest fans from my experience have been Penn State, Northwestern, and Nebraska. I also like Indiana fans but these are just my experiences. The rest are fairly neutral.

What isn't a " good look" is scheduling a team that eventually couldn't beat Indiana State or IPFW.
The reference to " not a good look " was to KENTUCKY's program, remember ?? So it was suggested that Ky. wouldn't have wanted, in retrospect, to " look bad ' by lowering themselves in scheduling a school that was destined to lose to the likes of ISU and IPFW. ( If you still don't understand, I'll have my 5th grader post something further.)
No, y'see a dumbdown would have been in order...….Kentucky playing Indiana in recent years...for the Wildcats would have been kinda like clubbing baby seals...the world would rather not have to contemplate things that distasteful......
This sums it up pretty well. I've had multiple bad encounters with Wisconsin fans (primarily during football), people throwing stuff at us on our walk to Camp Randall, etc. Purdue basketball fans are the worst...Izzo owns them in recruiting and they just can't handle it, so they have all of their conspiracy theories. Purdue fans were all cocky after blowing out OSU in football last year. They came to East Lansing the following week expecting an easy victory...Purdue ended up getting drubbed by our backup QB and otherwise injury ravaged team...their cockiness was cute and short lived...
1) Purdue fans in 2018, after beating O.S.U. to get to 3-3, were hardly cocky heading to East Lansing the following wk.
2) Purdue was " drubbed" by the Spartans ?? IT WAS 16-13 M.S.U. until there was 1:58 left in the game. 23-13 final. Any other revisionist history ??
Its funny he mentions Purdue basketball fans as being the conspiracy theorists when in reality, after we stole swanigan from under izzos fingertips, msu fans had all sorts of idiotic theories about swanigan just switching to the program that better fit him.
Cal knew what was coming in 2013---So a smart move to cancel. He didn't want his youngin's get their asses handed to them by #1 IU, in Rupp. So he threw a fit, and BOOM---Disaster in Rupp avoided. Laughing
Cal's Short-term reasoning ? You've got a point. Long-term calculation ?? Down the road a few years, the Wildcats had much to lose and little to gain -playing you -given the eventual state you've found yourself in.
