It is literally the most essential skill in the game of basketball. Having a coach that routinely works with everyone on getting a good jumper I feel like would do mounds of good for most teams, especially the upperclassman who got to work with the guy for years. It just seems like such an essential skill that teams with a coach designated to it could have the upper hand. Not to mention it probably helps with recruiting. I mean you can sell to guys you have a designated coach who can get them a great jumper.

Are there a lack of these kind of guys, are coaches stubborn, or am I just plain stupid?

I think the game these days has unfortunately revolved around flash and athleticism for so long that the fundamentals have taken a secondary role to style points.
