whip that duke D O N K E Y!

What’s better? Yankees/Red Sox? Ohio St/Michigan football? Alabama/Auburn football?

But the best in college basketball.

Not to be that guy, but he did say "in THE sport". So you could stretch it to women's basketball or the NBA at best. You should have just told him to STFU.

Did you just cuss out Shun?? Wow. The facts are that recruiting the 3 of the top 10 players every year - their stats are based on offensive production and physical gifts. Not on an 18 year old's ability and willingness to play defense.

Duke is gifted offensively - but their team defense is like Iowa's. That is not a compliment.

I have no love for UNC, but Shun is a good man.

That's a hell of a response to a three letter post. Yikes

Hi UL1986...SMILE...I am this way before taking all of my medicine, which adds up to 24 pills a day, it use to be 35 pills a day

I just wanted to see some real hate. That’s all. Sorry to inject myself into this love fest

Can’t wait Shun! I would love for Duke to put a whippin on your Tarheels. Lol! Hope all is well Shun and it’s always good to hear from you.
Hi DukeRulesBasketball...SMILE...THANK YOU for asking. I am doing well my friend. I hope you are doing well also, plus the ones you LOVE. I enjoy the rivalry more at the age of 67 than I did when I was younger (full of piss & vinegar). If my UNC TAR HEELS win, great. If they don't, life goes on. You are a good person my BROTHER.

!!!!!!!!!!!! GO TAR HEELS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny to see you so involved in the Duke/unc rivalry. Why are you so desperate for Louisville and Kentucky to be the biggest rivalry?

I agree with you here, though I don’t think dUKe/NC is a great rivalry, either. Each has its own issues to me.

There are a lot of Kentucky fans that cheer for both schools when they aren’t playing. There is also a valid argument that Louisville doesn’t even have the majority of fans in its own city, either. So not many people even care about them. Louisville also hasn’t won enough Championships or even games in this series to really consider it a rivalry.

While dUKe has obviously been more successful nationally and against their rival than Louisville, dUKe is very similar to Louisville in that they also don’t bring enough fans to ever have much of a real rivalry. Rivalry games also supposed to give bragging rights to a fan base for the year. In this case, these teams play at least twice and sometimes 3 times. Again, that’s not much of a rivalry to me.

The best rivalries are supposed to matter nationally. With that said, this may be one of the best rivalries currently played. However, there are a lot of rivalries that can also make that claim, too. I would think if the true blue bloods made it a point to compete against each other every year, like UK, KU, NC that those rivalries would be much more important and much bigger rivalries. UK-IU used to be one of the best, if not the best, until IU started tanking or I would’ve included them on the list.

That’s just my opinion.

How about I bang @UNC71-00 's wife and record it, then dump his dog in the river. Would that qualify as real hate? Or would I have to spray paint his garage door too?
That’s what I’m talking about right there. I wonder if he has a business you can leave some bad reviews for?

Ehhhh.... the fact that Duke and UNC play against each other a few times a year as conference opponents is pretty good... gives a narrative to each year. Will one team sweep? Will they keep it even? Will one have to beat the other for a conference title? Not sure how that DIMINISHES a rivalry...

And Duke doesn't bring enough fans to be a rival? Huh? We are consistently at the top of the ranks in terms of tv viewers, merchandise sales... hell, when you Google "most popular college basketball team" Duke is literally the first team to show up. Same if you google "college basketball teams with the most fans"... first link is about Duke. In the last week of the 2017 season, Dukes merch sales were second in the country, ahead of UNC (per Forbes). In 2015, Duke had a top three revenue program in the country, 50 percent higher than UNC, and that with a 9000 seat arena (again, per Forbes.). Not sure where you are getting this... my guess is that Duke is the most popular team in the country (as well as the most hated!) You guys are generally, as a rivalry, a LOT more limited to a single state.

And Duke/UNC certainly matters nationally. There's a reason it is consistently the top rated regular season college basketball game of the year, and the winner, especially in the second game, usually takes a lead for a number one seed in the tourney. Definitely matters more than any other college basketball rivalry.

I think you are trying too hard. Louisville let's your rivalry down a bit.
