Vegas still favors Duke over Kentucky

Good luck to you guys! A win for Kansas makes the series a little less laughable than it is today
That's true but KU is 6-3 against Kentucky this century and their basketball program has been a lot better over the last few years. Nothing has happened otherwise that suggests that will be changing anytime soon.

Oh stop. Yea Kansas and their three titles over the last one hundred years are threatening. Such a good basketball program lately but no titles in the past ten years. Quit trolling.

Just saying, one has been a much better program these past few years and next year both appear to have an equal amount of talent. Don’t see how Calipari can beat Self without a superior roster. I’m not sure if he ever has.

And one was a lot better before that. I’m not sure your point here? Kentucky has steamrolled Kansas more times than I can count. I guess a three year stretch of beating us is a lot for you guys to brag about.

My point is I just don’t see how there’s any way that Kentucky can beat Kansas next year.

But Cal does have a superior roster this year.

Cal has had superior talent everytime they have played Kansas. Only when he has future NBA All-Stars does he win. I don't see any future studs in Lexington next year. Those guys are all in Durham.

If it makes anyone feel better, Kentucky won their 3 games against Kansas, under Cal, when they were the #1 team in the country. But, I would also add that while Kansas has defeated Kentucky the last 3 seasons, they were also a #1 seed for all 3 years. Moral of the story is, the better team won all 6 times. Shocking.

The good news is that Kentucky will not be the #1 team in the country next year when they play and it's very likely that Kansas is a #1 seed in March. It's why I just don't see how there's any way that Kentucky beats them.

KU was probably the less talented team in all of the last three wins. Many expected them to get blown out in Rupp last year (definitely every UK fan).

Dude just quit while your ahead. Kentucky has all the tools to beat Kansas. Kentucky is now ranked ahead of Kansas in two major preseason polls. Kentucky has all the tools to win #9. Don’t be delusional.

Kentucky normally does win the off-season national championship so this is nothing new for them to be at the top or #2 at worst.

and national titles from the 50's...

It's nice to be able to spout off "the list," but I'd much rather have a bunch of modern era titles like Duke. They flat out mean more than games none of us saw (or even have an interest in seeing), in an 8-team tourney that didn't even include all the best teams. And from an era in which it was an entirely different game. Frankly, most of us wouldn't be very big fans of the sport if it had not evolved since the 40s.

If we are ranking the best programs of the last 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 years Kentucky isn't #1 in any of them. It's crazy what that run from 1948-1958 did for them. Kinda like UCLA's run.
Except Kentucky has had 5 coaches win a title and no other school has 3. The definition of consistency and a program making a coach, not the other way around. Kentucky living in some heads today. Must be doing something right.

And here’s where it’s getting sad. If I rooted for Kansas I would likely hide behind Duke too

Why didn't the program make BCG? Tubby won a title but he had all of Pitino's players, the program made him the head coach of High Point.

Good thing the program was able to make Calipari and not the other way around RollLaugh

Is a Duke fan seriously talking about coaches making programs? Can’t make this shit up. Duke is nothing without K, probably won’t be anything after he leaves either.

Just stating facts. We already know our history sucks but atleast our recent history and future is better than Kentucky's.
Except you’re wrong about both of that. We have a more recent title and also have a brighter future. Beating Kentucky three times in a row doesn’t mean a damn thing in the grand scheme of things. What a homer post.

that's fine, but I never made the statement that my program makes coaches. Duke was actually pretty good before K but nothing comparable to what he's done since he took over. I'm ok with admitting that because I'm not insecure.

You don’t have a title without him. If calling out your dumb post is insecure then sure, I’m insecure. 5 title winning coaches is unmatched.

I think Kentucky will beat Duke. I think Duke has another underwhelming season relative to expectations.

I'm not as confident in this UK roster as some of my other brethren but I do think we'll be better than Duke this season. Both teams have question marks.

I agree, I don't think Duke will be that great this season but the media will anoint them again because of high school rankings.

Next March it will have been 7 years since Kentucky's last title. That's a really long time. It'll also have been 4 years since Kentucky's last Final Four. Not too bad but Kansas will have a more recent one and a much better recent record in the NCAA. Recent history to me is the past 3 seasons.

Why would Kentucky's future be brighter? Worse NCAA record, less wins, worse seeds, they lose to KU everytime they play, Duke steals all of their recruits, worse pretty much everything in recent years and KU brings in their best class in years. None of that says Kentucky has a brighter future to me.
