UVA vs Auburn Game Thread

That foul was on the ground and you were down 3. Would not have mattered.
Difference is that game didn't matter, this game did. I don't care about that foul, I'm only saying these refs usually hold their whistle late. I think they should have. It is what it is.

I said the ref got bailed out because he anticipated the call. He wasn't just signaling for a 3.

But at least the team you wanted to win won......Feel better now that the team that beat you is out of the tournament? :)

Lol your pathetic. Ref didn’t get bailed out of nothing. Quit being paranoid. If you can’t, take a pill for it or talk to someone else.

Also, I wanted Auburn to win. I am a big Bruce Pearl fan. Made some mistakes but he’s a great coach and his players love playing for him. He’s always respectful of Ky and other programs. He’s a great coach. Hope you enjoyed your NIT games.

"All"? Auburn had 4 team fouls with 8 seconds left in the game...
And who would benefit in a game with a low amount of fouls called? The deeper team that had to abandon driving the ball because they were getting mugged? Or the team that is not deep and is bigger down low and relies much less on driving?

Now you are changing your argument. Why? You said they let UVA get away with fouling, but called Auburn for "all these ticky tack fouls". When in reality, Auburn was allowed to play just as physical. Yet for 19 minutes, and 52 seconds, they only had 4 teams fouls. WHhich actually HELPED Auburn.

"Abandon driving the ball"? Auburns game is the "3" ball. They don't look to drive to score----They look to the drive for kickouts.

Do you even understand basketball?

Well you don't have to worry much about Louisville getting bad calls in the NCAA tourney. You have to be in the tournament before you get bad calls.

Ooh nice burn there. If only it made a lick of sense

Officiating has to improve somehow. It’s brought up nearly every big game.

Officiating wasn’t a problem this game. Missed double dribble Is the only controversial call. Everyone agrees that 3pt shot was a foul. Rest of the game seemed to be called fair.

Will agree that officiating overall needs to improve haha. It’s gotten worse but it is also a very hard job.

Brutal way to lose. Your team is incredible. We got fortunate to win. We missed a ton of FTs tonight. Appreciate the kind words though.

You’re a good poster and deserve the best. Hopefully we can be like y’all and erase our demons next year.

It just sucks for the Auburn kids to practice day in and out only for their season to come down to a ref not recognizing a double dribble.

One would think that would be entry level class for ref school.

That non-call is easier to miss, than to get. As an official, you know Auburn is going to foul...So you are anticipating a foul. Then BANG----something unusual happens. Your mind is engaged in---"Get the foul...Get the foul....Don't miss the foul". Because the last thing you want, is not to call an obvious foul, then have UVA drop one in at the buzzer. You don't miss the foul, but unfortunately you miss the double dribble. Not making excuses fella's. Just trying to give you guys a feel of HOW the call can be missed. The unusual, the obvious, in moments like these, are some of the easiest calls to miss. Your mind is settled on an obvious situation---A foul. You are so keyed in on not missing that, that you miss something else.

BTW---I doubt many on here knew that was a DD. It happened really fast. Blew up real quick. Also doubt many in attendance knew as well. Including Pearl. he never reacted to that play; Just the foul. Which BTW, was a great call.

Their season didn't come down to that non-call. Its a 40 minute game. Not a one non call game. Auburn was like 5 for 600 from three. Missed a FT late that kept it a two point game. Fouled an 80% FT shooter with 6 tenths of a second left. A lot more went into them losing than a single non call.

We got screwed dude. You know it.

Plenty of missed calls throughout the game both ways. In a 1 point game, all of them count- not just the ones at the end.

Quit your whining and bitching and take your loss like a man.

Officials in big time sports should have to face the media
