UVA @ FSU (Monday night)

Held Huff to only 4 points and was a non factor on the boards. Hauser to 11. When he gets hot he can carry them.
I don't know that he has ever had a real effective game against us. Last night, he tried driving to the basket a few times only to get the ball stripped by a help defender. I've watched several of their games this year and he typically can do that, but we did a good job of crowding him on the 3 point attempts and that put him out of sorts.

A huge issue was Hauser getting two fouls in the first half. Once he was on the bench, they really lost the floor balance they have that makes them difficult to defend

The way to consistently beat FSU is to have guys who can make one-on-one plays off the bounce. Guys who can get into the lane and finish around the rim, which then results in a defense helping too much and open guys in the corner for kick outs.

Teams like GT have that with Jose Alvarado. UVA just doesn’t have guys quick enough to do that other than Clark and he’s too small.
Very much easier said than done lol. FSU is one of the most difficult teams to drive on IMO and when you try to dish it back out they are excellent at rotating to get the steal or bat it away.

For sure. We’ve been winning a lot of games for a reason. Just saying that teams who have been able to get us on our heels are teams with multiple players who can make individual plays off the bounce.

Of course in the Tucker Center we are just a different animal altogether.
