UNC @ Michigan gameday thread

Shocking that it sounds like whining to UNC fans.

Internet backlash from supposed Duke fans.

Your bias is starting to show in a big way, starting to be hard to take you seriously. Everyone gets backlash but probably not to the degree Barrett was getting it or at least it was publicized. He defended his player as any coach should, beyond that you're reaching and clearly butt hurt about the attention Duke has been getting. I get it but don't feel the need to continue this back and forth as it goes nowhere.
What else do you call it? His team lost & he’s sitting there giving multiple examples of missed foul calls. Sorry but that’s whining about the officials.

It isn't complicated. When you frame it that way you are trying to get a point across about the officiating. There are other ways you can get a point across about your guys. If I were that biased or sensitive to it I would have started a thread or something about it when I first saw it. I didn't because I didn't really care. However, I'll certainly use it as a 'punch' back.

You don't think other players have gotten the backlash Barrett has? You don't think UK players have heard it more than him at times? You are smarter than that. You guys think everything is worse when it comes to Duke because your coach has led that narrative for years. If you buy that BS that's cool. It isn't reasonable to expect everyone else to though.

UNC’s OOC wins are looking scarce (besides Wofford and Elon). Only two more chances to get a decent win

(H) vs. Gonzaga
(N) vs. Kentucky

Man, the loser of UK/UNC will not have a lot of meat on their bones in OOC.
We still have KU,UL, Utah, and Seton Hall.

edit: my bad,I should have read the thread before responding.

Could you imagine being Nas Little and Cam johnson and Kenny Williams getting more PT than you. Jeez

"• North Carolina entered Wednesday night's contest averaging 96.6 points per game, while the U-M defense was ironically allowing exactly half that (48.3). Michigan held the Tar Heels 29.6 points below their season average, while also limiting them to a season-worst 39.4 field goal percentage — UNC's previous worst shooting performance this year had been 44.3 percent, and they had hit at least 48.4 percent of their buckets in five of six contests."

Yeah, this team has had a shooting guard that can't score and has still been good offensively. The starters were still pretty good tbh. Michigan did a good job for sure though. They really forced them to be strictly a jump shooting team.

I'm pretty sure that would warrant a fine in the SEC.
He can afford it.
So i just watched it. My opinions:

Knight is a Top 5 coach and No. 1 ranked asshole. He did a lot of great things on and off the court but he also did a lot of bad things off the court. We only saw one incident. Imagine the stuff we DIDN’T see. It’s also interesting that (at one point) K, Alford and other Knight players who went on to become coaches, had issues with him at one point or another (but they seem to be on good terms now).

All Knight had to do was change with the times. Sure, it’s easier said then done, but I think it has added more years to Coach K and other coaches longevity. You can’t use what you *thought* worked in 1965 and use it in 1995. You have to adjust with the times or get out of the way.

No one was surprised Knight had a lot of power at IU. As the piece mentioned, IU was adopting a new Code of Conduct, but Knight’s pesky 1987 NCAA Championship got in the way of real reform. It wasn’t until Knight started losing multiple times early in the NCAA Tournament when IU felt they had more leverage. That’s not real leadership. Had they checked Knight in 1987– even with his 3rd national Championship—then there would no incident in 1997. They waited til Knight was at his weakest (in terms of success in the NCAA Tournament) to finally decide to do something. They also should’ve called his bluff when he interviewed for the New Mexico job. IU had championships before Knight, but they were acting as if he built IU. Cowards.
Wrong thread.
