TV/video games/movies off season thread

X-Men '97 is the best show I've seen in years. Season 1 wraps up next Wednesday. Not sure I have the words for how amazing this show has been. It has exceeded any expectations I had. The writing is so damn good. I almost forgot what good writing in TV show looks like.

So it's a sequel to the original animated series? Haven't heard much about it.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread but Dark is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I need more people to watch it.

what is it and where is it?

It’s a German show on Netflix

When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town's troubled history -- whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986.

I'm thinking about buying a Risk type game. I had Risk as a kid, but now there's other versions out there.

Do you all have one you prefer?

used to play Axis and Allies about 1000 years ago. It's Risk on steroids. Don't know if there is anything nowadays that is better than that.

Just an idea. It would take a lot of work and suggestions.

What if we came up with the 32 best shows and put them in regions of where they were filmed/took place.

ie Mash and Always Sunny, Sopranos would be in the east?

Then we have the south, Justified, Ozaks, Mideast, and West. We might have to change up regions due to lack of shows. We then put it to a vote on each region and go from there.

Off-seasons are long so It could just give us something to talk about.

What's the best 8 shows from the East?

Wire could be south, same as Justified.

We might end up with 64 show tournament. If this idea flops no big deal, Again, trying to pass the time by.

Deadwood would be midwest. Fargo midwest. Hell on Wheels? South Park, Simpsons (I think it was said it was in Missouri)

IMDB will seed them and if it's a tie, TV Maze or Rotten Tomatoes.

I feel like I'm missing a lot

I'm thinking one vote a day with a 24 hour time limit. After the first round will be 32/64 days.

We could also do first round each region for a week.

Silicon Vally west
Entourage from east but takes place West

Lots of shows could go different ways depending on needs.

Miami Vice?

I'm super bored at work. We need 23 more shows plus some if my list is shit.

hide it with a spoiler tag, it's they eye logo with a line drawn through it

I'm curious.

I just didnt understand why Shiv (after getting screwed over by Maddson) turned around 10 minutes later and voted yes to sell instead of backing Kendall. Seemed like a weird decision to me. I read the director said it was ultimately because Kendall put his feet up on Logans old desk and it pissed her off. But, imo, i think she just decided that by selling and letting Tom take control, it keeps her closer to power. Idk though.

What do you think?

I think you're spot on. Pwer is a hell of a drug. Plus it's all she knows. Submissive with a overbearing dad, and two brothers. She was always fragile.

Man, that whole show is a case study.

Plus she was pregnant, could have been baby brain.

*Mr. T was a real asshole.
I was in a bad accident when I was 12. Hit by a car riding a dirt bike. Wheelchair for a couple months. During that time I went to the Peoria Air Show with my parents and Mr. T was there (had girlfriend in Peoria) and he stopped and talked to me for a couple minutes. I'm sure the wheelchair helped, but he wasn't an asshole that day.

You have Damages and The Shield? Two underrated shows for sure. Both probably in my top ten or so.

The 8 Show on Netflix is fire. It’s Korean but the premise is fascinating.
