***Round of 64 - Saturday Games Thread***

He impacted the shot clearly are you watching the game? The guy went up for the put back and he hit his forearm impacting the shot attempt.
yeah i watched the game. I agree it was a foul. was just shocked they called it. it was the right call and I am glad the Refs called it but I have seen that not called just because it was the end of the game.

He has to be fired, it’s not like he’s at VCU. He has NBA players on his teams at Texas.

Had enough talent on the roster to be a title contender this year. Experience and talent. Still couldn't win a tournament game

Shaka Smart still hasn't won a tournament game at Texas.

I just watched the Northern Iowa halfcourt buzzer-beater from a few years ago, after somebody mentioned it. I had completely forgotten. I actually feel sorry for Shaka now. Even though I should wish the worst upon him for ruining a golden opportunity for KU to win the title in ‘11.

If he’s less than a Sweet 16 team next year he’s got to be gone. They’ve signed 2-3 top 25 recruits and another 8 top 100 kids in the last 4 years. That’s not a top 5 roster but it’s too 10-15. There’s no reason for that kind of roster to have 0 NCAA wins.

Shaka’s misfortune started at the last year of his VCU tenure when his team had a 4pts lead at the end of 2nd half but the opponents hit a 3 while being foiled. VCU lost the game in OT, and since then he has had this kind of weird last second heartbreaks at Texas. The Northern Iowa miracle 3 and this last second FT.

He’s been unlucky, but honestly speaking his teams were good enough to seal the game before the last shot anyway. I think with each failure in the tournament the monkey on his back just becomes heavier. Texas played tight in this game and committed this many turnovers, which is a recipe for disaster in March madness.

I think he should return to a small mid major school like VCU and relieve the pressure. Try to get a team to the tournament as an underdog and play against a better opponent. Perhaps this way he can finally shake off all the burden and stress, and find his March magic back.

Sheriff, Sheriff, Sheriff.......What happened, brother? How do you lose to the local, neihborhood church?

Feel much better about FSU’s win after watching Texas and UVA.

Yeah, you take any win you can get in any way you can. This is why I laugh at people who say we had an easy tournament run in 2019 because we didn't play any 1 or 2 seeds. Not our fault other teams kept losing. Regardless, Huff and Hauser put up absolute stinkers shooting the ball last night. We couldn't win games this year when they didn't play well. Maybe the COVID pause had an effect on them but it doesn't matter. Next year could be a bigger rebuilding year.

If Eastern Wins, there is a very good possibility that the West goes undefeated in the first round except for the UCLA vs BYU game.

EWU's coach is going to be the new coach at Portland. Huge pickup for the Pilots
