Reason you need to cheer for Nova to beat Kansas

Hmm....lets see. Villanova is favored by 5. Yes, FIVE over a team that just beat Duke in OT. They shot 4-23 against a great defensive team last game and still won by 12. They had Im pretty sure the most 3 pointers made in history between the first two games of the tourney. They have every piece possible that you could possibly want to win a national title. Their offensive efficiency ratings have been through the roof. From Versatile Mikal Bridges to AP POY Jalen Brunson, most likely NPOY. I mean I don't see how I need to go on. How is it NOT Nova's to lose? I've yet to see you explain that. So thanks for "calling me out," which you didn't do. A team that's been at the top of the AP all season long, who's favored by 5, yes FIVE to a really good KU team. I mean the ESPN BPI gives Villanova a 73% chance to win tomorrow. That only goes up if they make it to the championship game. Yet it's "BS" to say it's Nova's to lose.

Yes. You are being biased. But that's to be expected when I'm talking about your opponent.

I know you're going to come back to this tomorrow IF KU wins. I'll just ask to please refer to me where I said Villanova was 100% fact going to win. I just said it's Nova's to lose and clearly most agree, besides KU fans. The line wouldn't be -5 for almost a week if I was wrong.
You're both kinda right.

You will find out if Kansas plays them. Superior athleticism. No one who can check udoka. Superior guards.

Villanova can win with superior guard play. No one else left has better guards and no one at all has a better inside game than Kansas left.

Michigan doesn’t have the 2nd best defense in the country by playing flat footed. This isn’t your typical Beilein team.

And? He probably wasn't even the worst at the line for that team.. He was a what 65% shooter? For a relatively poor ft shooting team.

I feel like Michigan doesn't match up that well with us, but at the same time we certainly don't match up very well with Michigan. By chance we beat a great Nova team and Michigan advances---I don't know who would be favored. Looks like a complete toss up if both teams somehow manage to win their saturday match ups.

That’s Michigan’s story. We have no one to guard Jaren Jackson or Nick Ward but we beat MSU by double digits both games. No one to guard Bamba but beat Texas. No gkne to guard Haas but best Purdue. Texas AM and Florida State both have massive size advantages over Michigan and we put a clinic on vs one and beat the other.

Despite all of the size matchup nightmares, Michigan’s defense has continued to look and play elite. Our problem comes on the other end of the floor where we have a tendency to miss open look after open look and struggle at the free throw line.

Oh I’ll most certainly come back to this if KU wins tomorrow. Believe that shit. Lol.

Nova and KU play basically the exact same way. 4 guards who can all shoot, a big inside. Both have 1st team AA’s, Brunson having the edge as NPOY (which he deserves). Nova has been one of the best teams all year. Kansas is playing its absolute best ball as of late. Kansas won the toughest conference, both regular season and championship. Kansas has survived the toughest side of the bracket thus far. They’re no pushover, and I promise Wright isn’t brushing us off the way you are.

Wait, Kansas plays 4 guards? Why is that a mismatch for Michigan?

And that 7’0 280 center is going to chase Wagner around the floor and be able to defend both the pick and roll and pick and pop?

I like the matchup.

Surprisingly our defense was great against duke. Held Allen to 3 made shots, held bagel to 5 made shots being guarded by a guard. Not surprisingly, the four teams left look to have the best team chemistry and share the ball about as well as you can. Not to discount Loyola---but I don't think it would be surprising to see UM, Nova, or Kansas win it---they are all playing at a high level right now. My only worry is Ive seen Kansas shoot poorly this year and we didn't have the defense to win ugly.

I have lived and breathed KU basketball since the 52-53 season when we moved from San Francisco ot Ames. KU is in the middle of the country and just outside KC but it's 4 hours to the next city of any population and they hate KU since it is St Louis. Some Duke fans might be for us since we beat them. Some Big 12 fans from other schools might root for us. But like Caorlina, Kentucky, and Indiana, bball is a way of life out here. It's a 24/7 365 way of life.

Other than Kansas being a blueblood, etc. Is that Kansas can't lose to Michigan or Loyola, and last thing we need is Kansas to win a championship with how loaded Kansas' roster is going to be next year with incoming recruits and transfers becoming eligible.

Kansas has to be the odds on favorite next year to win the championship. Agree?

Funny, Michigan fans are hoping to play Kansas. It’s Villanova that appears the favorite.

You have an advantage inside versus Villanova. You have no advantage anywhere against Kansas. If you prefer Kansas, that is on you, but Kansas should beat you 8/10 times I'd say.

This is a pretty lame thread man. Rooting against someone because you’re scared they might go back to back?
Is it a lame thread? Pretty much every blue blood is rooting against Kansas.

And, I am sure you have never rooted against UNC or UK to win a championship.

"Sure"

Lmfao

And mentioning their defense as elite when the Big 10 top offense barely averaged 80 a game.

Look...the chances are we don't win a title this year or next year. But why would you be against us winning back to back titles? For all of the shit luck KU has had in the tournament, it seems like we're due for some good luck(and Grayson's shot bobbling around the rim is a step in the right direction). If we won back to back titles, we'd finally have enough titles to match what you'd expect from our name/reputation. Between triple overtime losses, guys going apeshit from the 3 point line, our guys missing crucial free throws, and having to play a stacked Kentucky team, .....we're due for some good luck.

I tried to tell you that it was Villanova's to lose. They are just too good. Their ball movement is the best I have ever seen. Ever. They have someone from every position that can score at any point of the game and at any location on the court. They are just absolutely ridiculous and can turn it up in seconds.

Okay guys we need Villanova to lose in the NC because look at who they will have next year. Clearly will be the best team in the country. We can't let them win 3 championships in 4 years.

I was hoping KU would bring it home earlier in the week then a few KU posters were talking mad shit so for them I'm laughing. For the regular posters I know your pain.

You were right. I was wrong. Congrats.

Good game Nova. Go on and win the whole damn thing.
