The actual saying is, "the love of money is the root of evil." And that saying comes from one of the Pauline epistles.
Money can do much good for a lot of people, and so can religion. But, the trouble is people tend to utilize these things as their masters, instead of as their servants. A similar concept is the idea that any virtue taken an extreme becomes a vice. Having convictions, and values, and beliefs is a great thing; it gives you an ideal to aim for. It can become problematic, however, when we become so rigid in our stances that self-righteousness, arrogance, and contention overpower our better senses. That is the issue with fundamentalists. They believe they have all the correct answers and it's their job to correct everyone else's mistakes.

Israelis certainly would. According to the IMF and World Bank, Israel has a higher per capita GDP than New Zealand, Great Britain, France, Japan, and Italy. They're doing okay for themselves. The Palestinians, on the other hand, are definitely struggling. Quite a few African countries are doing better off. Guess you could say Palestinians have nothing to lose.

The amount of anecdotal evidence that shows you are no better off with masks than without is staggering. An even this far into it with zero scientific evidence that shows their effectiveness, you still have the muh mask bros.
