Speaking of fast dogs. Southland (W. Memphis) has a grey hound track and I've didn't realize dogs could run that fast. It's one thing to see them on tv. a whole other to see them in real life. Impossible to bet on.
I've learned over the years to just stop ahead of time.
If I feel somethings off, I just bail.

I remember not know you guys from anyone back in the day and I talked about dog fighting and you were most affected.
At the time I was just telling stories to strangers basically. I like how you stood up. That was f$cked all the way around and I still hate seeing dog toys on bumpers b/c I know what it is.
*if you recognize the signs, it's still as prevalent today as it's ever been. The balls on the truck are to pull dogs down the road and if they let go, they're put down. Go to someone's house an how they have their dogs chained up in tiers is the easy way to see their bottom bitches. Women are one step up. It's as common as full fat milk, and as old as time.

I was putting that to the side. I could not care less who the athlete of the year is. Just pointing out that she didn’t quit on her team or country. That criticism of her is bush league.
Well I’m specifically talking about the award. If you had to guess, why would she get the award?
Depends on the criteria for the award. If it is based just an athletic accomplishments, which it probably should be, then who knows? If it is based on other things then I think one could make an argument for it. She has positively impacted lots of young girls across the country. Again, for me, an athlete of the year award should be based mainly on athletic accomplishment and leave a person of the year type award for the other stuff but I don't know what this one is. What was this? Time Magazine? I didn't even know that was still around tbh. My guess is the people who seem upset about this don't read Time Magazine, which is somewhat confusing.
But, I agree that an AofY award shouldn't go to someone who didn't compete fully in her/his sport. Would be the same for a QB who missed the playoffs for an injury or something like that.
I think she was the overwhelming favorite to win 5 golds and walked away with a silver b/c of the team medal and an individual bronze. Nobody is denying there is overwhelming pressure at the olympics and many athletes are really damn young, but champions (aka athletes of the year) are the ones that overcome and rise above the pressure. Thats why being an olympic champion is such a huge accomplishment (something Biles has already done). She cracked, couldnt do it this time, and then somehow wins AOTY. I don't think there is any "hate" towards Biles at all, its the fact awards rarely go to the most deserving and it makes you wonder why.
There was a lot of hate when she didn't compete. Random old dudes all over the country, and probably here but I don't remember, were calling her a loser and quitter. I think some of that bitterness (which I admittedly don't get) carries over now as she won this award, which is seemingly important to people I guess.

Im O neg, so I try to when I can. Its usually in short supply. I could do a while lot better to help out. They are always shocked how fast I give blood--I attribute it to the tito's.

I don't think the hate came from just random old dudes and yes, some of the comments were way overboard. I would say the comments were as overboard as any other comment section on just about anything. I'd guess people are just fed up with media in general and tired of the widespread narratives they try to push.
