Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

I am wondering when the emergency tag is removed from the Vaccine if people will start lining up to get it. My dad has been on record for a while, he won't get vaccinated until its fully FDA approved. I saw where Pfizer and Moderna both applied within a few days of each other for full approval back in May. Upon a small amount of research, it is supposed to only take a few months after filing.

The point of the story told at the beginning of that article is results that look promising in hastily prepared studies can turn out to be bunk. Getting vaccinated is still magnitudes better at preventing Covid and preventing Covid hospitalizations or death than any treatment, including HCQ + zinc. The problem with pushing it was always going to be that people might see that as a compelling reason to avoid the vaccine, which would result in more infections, more hospital resources, more death. That’s why pushing the treatment was dangerous.

I don’t think doctors were ever forbidden from prescribing HCQ. From what I’ve gathered, there isn’t a mechanism to prevent them from prescribing any legal drug they want for any ailment. They could probably technically prescribe chemotherapy for a stubbed toe if they wanted. If/when the patient is harmed, they would face a malpractice lawsuit. If they’re confident a drug won’t harm the patient and there aren’t better options, then they don’t have to worry about that.

There’s very recent study that uncovered HCQ’s potential to cause cancer in mice. Now, I’m not putting a lot of stock in that study right now but I know that you’ve referenced the 3G (2G?) study that found mice exposed to 3-4x the level that humans would ever be exposed to were more likely to get cancer. That was enough to suggest 3,4,5,…10G is unsafe. Following that logic, perhaps higher dosages of HCQ aren’t as safe as thought.

This goes back to the earliest days of Covid. Suppressing a good treatment so that more people would theoretically take a vaccine that (as far as anyone knew) may be years away is insane. And yes, in many states, it was banned.

The only studies that have shown any potential harm caused by HCQ involved extremely high doses administered to people who were very late stage. No surprise there.

And it's easy to say that the vaccine is a much better option based on the numbers being thrown around, but I'm not at all convinced of that (shocking I know).

The Covid vaccine is categorized as an unprecedented vaccine. Others in this category were HIV and malaria. An unprecedented vaccine takes a minimum of 12-15 years to put into production. And even then, after it goes through phase 2 and 3 clinical trials, the rate of effectiveness is about 2%. It's pretty much technically impossible to produce a safe and effective vaccine in under a year.

Yet they managed a vaccine with a 95% rate of effectiveness which is also very safe? Give me a break.

I will. It’s like the flu vaccine. Going to be a semi-regular shot probably (yearly or bi-yearly or whatever).

Doctors could still prescribe HCQ at will.

So far, the vaccines have been effective and safe.

So you are going against your liberal hero's like Biden and Harris and Pelosi who said they would never take a vaccine because it came and was developed during the Trump admin. Now they want everyone to get the shot. Hmmmmmm, wonder why?

Well that’s just not what happened at all

I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump,” Harris said, “and it would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he’s talking about. I will not take his word for it.”

Cuomo went further, suggesting he mistrusted not just President Donald Trump, but also the Food and Drug Administration under Trump. Asked about his confidence in the FDA, Cuomo indicated he didn’t have much.

Every time you write about such things, though, the pushback is similar: What about New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) and Vice President Harris?
Months ago, both made comments of questionable wisdom about the safety of the then-impending vaccines. Both indicated that they didn’t fully trust the Trump administration to oversee the process.

Um, yes it did. Why dont you tell us what they said then if you disagree.

They said they would take the vaccine when scientists said it was safe. Scientists said it was safe, so they took the vaccine.

Pretty simple, bud.

You see how this doesn’t support the point you made, yes? You must. Nobody is that dense.

You are such a liar. Are you saying the scientists that developed the vaccine and put it out for consumption didnt think it was safe. You really cant be this naive or stupid to believe what you just typed.

The headline seems to support my point.

Democrat Biden warns against rushing out coronavirus vaccine, says Trump cannot be trusted

I’m sorry you don’t get to misrepresent the facts of what they said. I’m sorry you cited sources that directly contradict the point you were trying to make.

I’d say you’ll do better next time, but I doubt it.

Good god

Sorry, I did not. But you just keep on lying. Typical Liberal POS.

Since you think I dont understand, please explain it to me.

Easy. They didn’t say they would never take the vaccine because Trump was President when it was developed. The article you posted, directly quotes what Biden said, which is not what you asserted.

I know you can read, chief.

I avoid calling people dumb on message boards because usually they’re not. You are the exception. Kudos for doing well financially and professionally. Overcoming your learning disability had to be challenging.

You really cant be this naive. All of them said, they trust vaccines and science but would not take it if Trump recommended it. Put two and two together dude. It was Trumps scientists and vaccine that was developed under the Trump administration. Trump said take the vaccine, they said no. But if the scientist standing next to Trump said take it, are you saying they would then take the vaccine. Come on. You have to be smarter than that.

Right back at you.

Again, the article you posted directly quoted Biden. Read it

BTW, the Trump vaccine, developed in record time, is the vaccine Biden and his whore VP are wanting everyone to get now. What changed? Oh yeah, Biden. is President.

Okay Borden. In most cases. People were given state unemployment. Which gives you 80% of your income or a capped amount in most states. This is without any requirements to qualify. On top of that the federal government added $600, now $300 to the state unemployment, which more than covered loss wages. There was also rent and utility bill freezes. There was also at least a 15% increase in food stamp allowance and a major change in who qualified. Which was almost anyone who applied. All of these supplements should have been sufficient enough to be able to end the rent moratorium today. And that's not even talking about the fact that there are millions of jobs available right now. You're hung up on the smallest part of my point.
Not hung up on "the smallest part", brother. I actually agree with a lot of what you are saying. My only point is---you cannot lump everyone into the same boat. And the thing is---if you give to some, you basically have to give to all; impossible to gauge who needs, and who doesn't. These are unprecedented times....No real right/wrong way. I 100% agree people need to get off their asses, and get to work----But ****, can you really blame them? My soon to be ex son-in-law was a manager at KFC....made about $800 a week...Since COVID, dude is raking. Not to mention the stimulus they got , with 4 kids. So I mean, how do you tell someone to give that up, and go work for less?

Some, many, lost a lot---and had very little to start with. Barely scraping by. COVID hurt us, and we were in very good shape---I cannot imagine what it done to those making much less.
