Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

There is no running off in a cage match, fight to the death.

Let’s start here. A dog who hasn’t been trained and is mean. A pit bull. You honestly think it would take me more than 30 seconds to subdue and take that thing out?
Ansolutely, i think it will take you more than 30 secs to get your hands on it and subdue to even start to strangle it. Jmo. Plus dogs dont have claws quite like big cats, just teeth.

And yes no running off in a cage match, but anpossum or raccon isnt much of an opponent for a cage. I dont think u could grab one out of a cage and kill it before it got away from you. Thats not the same scenario either though bc you wont have that fear of death survival mode kick in there either.

I think you underestimate a humans animalistic behavior and reaction to being put in a life and death situation.

Maybe so.

replace humans with animals in your post and i kinda thibk the same thing, ur underestimating animals that are in survival mode 24/7 basically.

Lets agree to disagree, we are just gonna rehash the same points weve already made in the first thread, anyways. And like the video shows, its obv not impossible so who knows maybe you could.

Our cat pissed on the spare bed so I figured I'd rub his head in it then hold him under the sink for a while. That little bastard fvcked me up. I couldn't hold him still for shit. He won that battle. No thanks on a man sized cat. I will take my chances with a bear.

Go back to the wolf. I wouldnt take andre the giant in his prime to kill a bear bare handed.

If I had to choose between a full grown mountain lion and a bear, I'll take my chances with the bear. I have a chance of out smarting the bear. Cats have a combination of intelligent tactics and strength.

You could strangle the cat. I don’t know how you’d begin to try to kill the bear.

Yea thats my problem i dont see how anyone could even inflict any type of damage on a bear without a weapon.

You can get a bear to fall on a sharpened stick easier than you can get to a good strangling position on a mountain lion before getting sliced up and mauled. I am not saying either would be an easy feat.

I am about to hit up my fishing hole. There's about a 10 foot alligator that likes to chill on the bank. Y'all think you can take him?

Steve Irwin did it all the time. Really made alligators look foolish. I think we could do it.

People from Florida basically just kick them if they’re in their way. Stay on land with them and you’re good. In the water, different ballgame.

Two lil guys here today. Big guy must be on the other end.

Also, the ospreys have started making a nest since the last time I was here.

We'll see how long I want to be out in the 90 degree heat with the sun pounding down. My friend caught a 9 pound bass here yesterday. Wish ne luck.

Over 200 is rare.

Adult males average approximately 140 pounds but in rare cases may weigh 180 pounds and measure 7-8 feet long from nose to tip of tail. Adult males stand about 30 inches tall at the shoulder. Adult female cougars rarely exceed 110 pounds.
It's not as rare as you think, size variability is huge based on location and resources.

Sounds like I would be really intimidating to her. Can't blame her at all.

On a serious note, I wonder if a large male made lots of noise and got big with arms in the air, if that would really scare off something like that. Good news for me, any time I go to a park like that around here, I am carrying :)
Nothing is going to scare off a mama protecting her babies, but if you live in KY you're safe.

As I think?

I quoted these guys.

“Physical description
Cougars are the largest members of the cat family in Washington. Adult males average approximately 140 pounds but in rare cases may weigh 180 pounds and measure 7-8 feet long from nose to tip of tail. Adult males stand about 30 inches tall at the shoulder. Adult female cougars rarely exceed 110 pounds. Cougars vary in color from reddish-brown to tawny (deerlike) to gray, with a black tip on their long tail. Cougar kittens are spotted until they are 4-5 months old, after that, barring patterns may remain up to 14 months of age. For additional information, see this cougar brochure.”

“A typical adult male will weigh 110 to 180 pounds and the female 80 to 130 pounds. Exceptional individuals have exceeded 200 pounds, but this is rare. Adult males will measure 6 to 8 feet from nose to tail tip and females 5 to 7 feet.”

Brian Kertson of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Bart George of the Kalispel Tribe, used dogs to tree a 197-pound mountain lion Monday north of Spokane. An average male adult mountain lion, or cougar, weighs 140 pounds.

“He was a monster,” Kertson told the Spokesman-Review. “A cougar that pushes 200 pounds… I don’t care where you are in the world, that’s pretty extraordinary.”

Like I said, variability based on geographic location is huge. Source: Me - federal wildlife biologist living in the middle of mountain lion home range (NV).

From the Nevada Department of Wildlife:

“In nevada, the average adult male mountain lion weighs 137 pounds and the average adult female weighs 98 pounds. Males up 180 pounds have been documented but are rare.”

Now I think anyone could fight up a class or two and win a couple games in best of 7 season, but overall this is how I see it.

Chances are if you run across a bear, you'll be in the woods. Chances are, you'll find a stick in the woods.
You thinking you could go into the woods and find/make a stick sharp/durable enough and then making a bear fall on it and kill the bear is Just as far fetched as jimbo killing a mountain lion in a cage match imo. Maybe even more so.

Does the bear give you time to whittle the stick into a spike or do you just instinctually do that as soon as you step foot in bear country???

maybe if you set like traps or something ok yes, maybe. One sharp stick, good effin luck.

Lol. All of this is far fetched.
