Which year was it better?

The year we got Kofi who is better than TJD?

Or the year after when we got Curbelo who’s wayyyy better than Lander?

Your class is 11th and has 0% of getting to the top 5, which is what I said the day you posted that nonsense.
Well in 2021 it was better considering your best player is Luke Goode. In 2022 it will be better as well (even without Clowney). 2023 will likely be the same. None of the recruiters that were around to get Kofi, Ayo, Miller, or Curbelo are still around. That’s the part you don’t seem to understand.

Mid tier Big Ten program with some potential upside. Not in top tier like Jay and Arch have been trying to argue all off-season.
I think they should be a top 5 Big Ten team every year. Down years they won't be, up years they will win the conference.

I really thought that Indiana would have a better year than they have this year. Maybe that starts today?

Bret Beilema is a better coach than Tom Allen. The resumes speak for themselves. Allen hasnt accomplished anything and he is 51 years old.
Don’t forget Illinois played in the rose bowl last.

Illinois football>Indiana Football🤣🤣🤣

And that’s the kind of expectations that most people see as homerish. Underwood has never won the Big Ten, and Illinois hasn’t won it since 2005, so having that as an expectation is unrealistic. Being in the top 5 EVERY year is also unrealistic. I mean look at MSU last year and Purdue the year before.

Have to get TD's, man....IU has been pretty dominant. Yet only leads 9-7.

The homeboard is melting down right now. People saw the 6-0 record and thought we were as good as those Connor Cook years. This team doesn’t have those OLines or DLines.

There is only one of us that doesn’t understand.

Illinois is in on higher rated recruits than Ayo, Curbelo, Kofi, and Miller based on recruiting ratings.

No Antigua or Chin, no problem.

Glad we’ve gotten to the point of Indiana has a “better” 2021 class thus you will be better moving forward. Lol

We have really shitty defense when it comes to stopping people from getting down the field and a good red zone defense. Kicking a bunch of field goals is par for the course against us.

I think we can pull off a top 5 finish this season. 3 in a row is the start of something.

Indiana is still a good team, despite the record. You guys are kind of opposites and I envy both of your football teams.

Who have they landed thats better any of those 4? Haven’t even really been close at this point.

You will soon understand just how valuable Antigua and Chin were.

We have the better classes and better assistant coaches. That means we will have the more talented roster moving forward. That will lead to better on court results if Woodson is even Tom Crean level.

Some of the most garbage offensive play calling this season, sprinkled in with penalties on every other play.

You recognize one second you need evidence of performance but when it comes to Indiana “we have”, “that will” and “we will” with zero evidence to support.

Jeez man, that Archie tenure was reality check on your program. Unfortunately you still haven’t gotten the message

I can backup those “haves” with evidence. IU has recruited so far at a higher level than Illinois under the new staffs. That’s a fact.

Links to the publications? Analytic sites are based on previous year’s performance at this point.
No, they’re projections using current and past information. It’s not simply the end of year grades.

Just going to copy this post. The Michigan voter for one of their sites picked Illinois too.

Illinois #7 for him

I haven't looked that closely at other rankings. But here are a few

Goodman has them at 13, but calls Curbelo an All American.

Lindy's has Illinois at 20.

Gary Parrish at CBS has Illinois #17.

BlueRibbon has Illinois at #18

Busting Brackets has Illinois at #16

The Athletic has Illinois at #14

ESPN has Illinois at #13.”

These are all at worst third place. why don’t you do yourself a favor and get informed.

No idea. Your track record on this subject isnt strong so I wont ask you if you think they will be back.
I got Kofi wrong even though he explored every option he could not to go back to Illinois. Just turns out the NBA and UK didn’t want him.

Best case scenario you lose 3 starters. Your 2021 class was weak. Your 2022 class is weak. Maybe you think you hit the transfer portal hard???

You said there were multiple publications that picked Illinois to win it. Still waiting on that evidence.

If not for Allen and his Hs gimmick shit trying to draw MSU offsides----those were two important timeouts we could have had.
