Current Big Ten coaches with a better coaching resume than Underwood:

1. Izzo
2. Painter
3. Howard
4. Gard
5. Turgeon
6. Holtmann
7. IU’s Associate Head Coach
Some day you’ll realize we don’t care about resume, Illinois has him in the present which is all that matters.

IU guys, how are you feeling about the game today? Tuttle will be your QB, right?

I’m nervous to play you guys coming off a bye week. There’s still talent on this roster and I hope we can get good sustained drives, it seems like we only score on huge plays but struggle to actually build sustained drives.

I think IU comes out firing today.

How can you be having these bad of takes this early in the morning? no way you are that drunk yet.
I've tried to stay away from the Woodson hype----but, I think this dude, combined with his staff, is going to produce good, competitive teams. Sometime having a guy who undertands the expectations, the pressure that comes with the job, is the right, and needed combination. Woodson was a very good player at IU......he was a solid NBA head coach....has been praised by many NBA coaches for his ability to develop guys, get their attention, relates very well. Does that mean success? No. But there's just something about this dude, his approach, that just seems right.

And not to mention, its not like hes inherited a trash roster. He's got a ton of experience, a potential POY, a very good frosh in Bates....three solid transfers, and another who adds an element IU hasn't had: A big, bruiser type of center, that can protect the rim. Duncomb is a Top 50/60'ish kid, who eventually can give productive minutes. I like Indiana's roster with just about any team in the Big 10. Only question is,well, is Woodson. But as I said, with Fife/Matta, not sure any other B10 team can claim that type of experience as far as asst. coaches go.

TBH, I expect a good, competitve Indiana team. I think the potential to surprise some folk is there.

As far as winning a Big 10 before Underwood? I dunno. He could. I think folk are putting to much stock in Woodson's age, and his lack of HC coaching experience. Which is silly; age part that is. Experience to an extent as well. You can either coach, or you can't. And look Underwood is about to be 58. And though he's got experience, that isn't that important. Woody has 20 years of coaching the worlds best....That's just as important/valuable.

They are better than what their record shows....Have played Three Top 5 teams....about to play another Top 10 team today----and another next week,

I'm happy with Tuttle at QB. ANd don't be surprised if we see a bit of Donovan McCulley today. Might be the better of the three, anyways...

Damn we are banged up---McFadden with broken thumb....Mullen out...Buckley out. JFC...

No clue. I don't like the run game but Tuttle can throw, he's more under control but less play making IMO. Defense I think is still solid. We lose in a tight one 17-24.

It’s called an opinion. No one thinks either are winning the Big Ten this year. IU is currently recruiting at a higher level though, thus have a bette chance at a conference title in the near future.

Tuttle just makes better throws, decisions...He's the better QB.

Cant fail on a third and one and then let up a third and 13 and third and 8.

I can’t tell if you are trolling or actually believe this horrible take at this point. So congrats on that I guess.

Hows your borderline top 5 recruiting class coming along?

Purdue is banged up really badly too unfortunately. We lost like 3 players to season-ending injuries during the bye week lol.
Injuries suck...Losing Mathews was a killer for us....And now no Mullen today. Huge loss there.

If we get Noah Clowney, its gonna be just fine. Top 5, or not.

What’s your expectations this year with Woodson?
With what he has(roster), staff(Matta/Fife), I expect a Top 5/6 Big 10 finish, 6-8 seed in NCAAT. I think that is reasonable...I do think this team will score better/defend better. But the Big is once again a monster----Michigan, OSU, Illinois, Purdue...

I 100% expect an NCAAT bid.

Probably got a break, there...But the defense has shown up---again.
That was a catch, made a football move and took steps, but fumbled when out of bounds.

This team is just frustrating. It’s either almost an instant 3 and out or it’s a 50 yard bomb.

I really thought that Indiana would have a better year than they have this year. Maybe that starts today?

Bret Beilema is a better coach than Tom Allen. The resumes speak for themselves. Allen hasnt accomplished anything and he is 51 years old.

This is a pretty reasonable take.

I might move down the seeds 1 line each but that’s nitpicking

I mean our recruiting has clearly been better.

Let’s readdress the borderline top 5 class on Oct 31st. How’s that borderline top 10 class coming for you?

IU has 3 losses----#2 Iowa, #3 Cincy and #7 PSU----combined record of 16-1/ THey are playing #10 MSU today, and have #6 OSU next week.

Yep, Beilema has a better resume. That means Tom Allen has to prove he is a better coach. That hasn’t happened yet. See how that works? It’s okay to admit your coach hasn’t accomplished much yet.

Would you trade Allen for Beilema?

Would you trade Allen for Beilema?
Probably not. You are trying to equate the situations. I don’t have unrealistic expectations for Allen like Illinois fans do for Underwood. Illinois fans think he is a top tier coach in the Big Ten. He hasn’t accomplished anything of importance, and neither has Allen at IU.

What should the expectations for an illinois basketball fan be?

Which year was it better?

The year we got Kofi who is better than TJD?

Or the year after when we got Curbelo who’s wayyyy better than Lander?

Your class is 11th and has 0% of getting to the top 5, which is what I said the day you posted that nonsense.

Indiana during Archie Miller probably which is why he has such a hard on for Underwood. He put Illinois where he hoped Indiana would be, and it has driven him mad.
