This is gonna be fun to revisit...Kid was in over his head as a frosh. Should have stayed in HS. Even then, he showed moments of the potential he has. I expect a much better version this year.
That lineup isn't happening for long stretches. Way too small among the 1-3 positions.
Houstan may be more apt at the four, but he will play the three out of necessity. Nobody else is good enough to play that spot.
I'm not sold on Johns either. He will be fine for 20 min at the four with TWill getting 10 there along Diabate getting 20 total (split among the 4/5).

not likely. Private citizens tax returns are just that i.e. private. School has no obligation to keep track of how much a player gets and/or the source.

Lander has 4 years of eligibility left and you are already writing him off lol.
There is a gap but they're also completely different players. Will be interesting to see how lander develops.
I’m pretty happy to land 5 stars. It’s always odd to me when people who pay for a Rivals membership go the route of “who cares about what people who have never played basketball rank recruits”. It’s like paying for PornHub Premium and asking who cares about tits.
Im assuming his point was if they don’t win games, the 5-stars they got in HS don’t mean shit.
The IU guys are in such a good place that they have either left the board entirely or started writing fan fic about Purdue being destroyed by NIL and potential injuries.
Your team wins games, which is the point. IU has been a dumpster fire even with five star kids, and Lander clearly should never have been rated that high.
Shoutout to the chicubs guy who is still chugging along and had one of the funnier posts on here I’ve seen in a while (the Jesse from breaking bad gif).
Lander didn’t look like a top 150 kid last year, let alone a 5 star.
We all know Crean was an awful coach, yet he had similar success to Matt Painter while at IU. It’s because he had superior talent to make up for his lack of coaching ability.
Maybe if you landed better talent you wouldn’t be in a 41 year Final 4 drought. Clearly what you guys have been doing under Keady and Painter has been working. Keep up the good work.

Some players are overrated and some coaches can’t maximize talent, but warping that into “So who gives a flying fvck if a guy that never played basketball gave them some star” is pretty silly. I’d imagine most of us give at least some amount of fvcks considering we are here and paying for the content.
Lol yea we are the biggest brand, most popular, and flagship basketball program in the state.
Even with how bad we have been the last few years, we are still more popular than you.

The last sentence was weird forsure, because you don’t have to play a sport to understand it or vice versa.
But I understood the sentiment of what he was going for with stars not mattering at the end of the day.
Why? Because he was should be senior in HS, playing in the B10? Thats just a dumb analysis. Never mind the fact as the season wore on, Lander improved. His last two games, he totaled 15 points, 5 assists, with only 1 turnover---in 38 total minutes. You could see as the season went, he got more comfortable with game, i.e. the speed, tempo, etc, etc.. I think Millers management of him was more of a deterrent to his development,opposed to his ability. Miller buried the kid. I get that,to an extent. But then again, why do encouraged a kid to recalssify, then bury his ass on the bench? Even after his two, back to back solid games vs Michigan/MSU, Miller only played him 7 minutes vs Purdue, and not at all vs Rutgers. Head scratching for sure. SOmething his dad spoke openly about.
Lander is going to be just fine. He's got a full year under his belt..He's now gonna get a normal, non-COVID summer---Which is gonna be very helpful. Not sure what the future holds with the additons of Johnson, Bates, Stewart.....But I do feel Lander is going to be a much better player. Kid is uber talented. Great passing ability, elite speed with the ball. He simply didn't play enough last season. And he should have.
