Will all of the NIL money that is being made by these players be public knowledge?

Currently arguing with some home boarders that think our freshman would beat our returning players. I said best of 7 freshmen maybe win 1.
That sounds like a very homeboard take.

You get attacked on our homeboard for suggesting Howard is a better recruiter than Izzo. Homeboards are cesspools of biased fans and conformation bias.

Amazing how much people hype the unknown over the known.

Yup.

Davante Jones vs Frankie Collins
Eli Brooks vs Kobe Bufkin
Terrance Williams vs Will Tschetter
Brandon Johns vs Caleb Houstan
Hunter Dickinson vs Moussa Diabate
Zeb Jackson vs Isaiah Barnes

It’s a fun hypothetical but the vets either have a clear advantage or probable push at every position IMO.

The fun exercise for us is how many games our
2nd 5 win over our starters.

Eric Hunter vs Ethan Morton
Jaden Ivey vs Isaiah Thompson
Sasha Stefanovic vs Brandon Newman
Mason Gillis vs Caleb Furst/TKR
Trevion Williams vs Zach Edey

The only clear advantage is Ivey but it’s a big one.

Assuming USA beats Senegal today, the Ivey vs Houstan matchup will be fun to watch. And Furst may have to guard Edey some too.

Houstan may have to match up with Chet, as when I've watched (mainly highlights, only caught a couple minutes of live action), it seems that they normally have him at the 4 alongside a big like Furst/Kalk/L-Tech fatty.

Furst-Edey would be a fun match up. Obviously Edey is just tough to defend, but if USA runs, Furst could have a big advantage there.

1 game? How many points and rebounds did Edey have the first time they played?
Edey was our leading scorer in 5 games last year. There's going to be real reason to play the hot hand / go with which matchup is working. Edey absolutely buried IU and Wisconsin late in the year when Tre was slumping - and Tre has a tendency to sleep walk through games at time.

Tre does have a little swanigan in him.

If you're referring to my sleep walk comment, I couldn't disagree more that Swanigan had that to him. The dude was probably more focused and tenacious game in, game out, than any player under Painter.

The point is, Trevion and Edey aren’t going to average a combined 30 ppg and 20+ rebs. Trevion will still get the bulk of the minutes.

I’m all for Edey having a good year. He can follow Hunter, Sasha, Trevion, and Ivey right out the door after another early round exit in the tournament.

I think Houstan’s baseline offensively is what we saw from Wagner at the position.
My very brief viewings of Houstan make me think he's a little more polished, but not as athletic as Wagner. Kind of got some Georges Niang vibes from him - albeit with higher potential.

Gonna be really good at Michigan. You think he'll play the 3 and 4?

He's gonna be the best backup center in the league and is gonna have times where we'll let him feast. No issues if the split of minutes from 25/15 narrows to 22/18...with there being games where Tre plays 30, then there are games when Edey gets more minutes. Good problem to have.

One swift punch from Bruce and he'll be on his knees, begging to be taken out of the game. That's our only chance of stopping this ogre.

Is he going to be the best backup center in the league? That’s certainly debatable and remains to be seen. I wouldn’t say it’s a good problem to have that two of your best players can’t be on the court at the same time, but that’s just me.

Yeah both. Depends on who the rest of the rotation is. I’m mostly expecting him to play the 3 while Johns, Diabate, and Dickinson get all the minutes at the 4-5.
